If you want to escape New York City, I enjoy going to Freeport Long island's Nautical Mile. It has a beautiful strip that has a lot of outdoor parties and seafood restaurants. It has a Miami feel as the beaches are nearby. It is about a 30-40 minutes drive or a train ride on the LIRR. Best times to go is around 3 PM on the Weekends.

This is all the way at the end of the mile on your left. This is a fun party spot to hang out. You can either spend the day here for happy hour, or come late night when its a lot louder, or both! Part of it is a sandy patio so you can kick your shoes right off! They have a raw bar and a basic American menu. Music and a dance floor attracts all age groups. Although all ages go here, it sometimes seems Tropix attracts a younger age group in 20s/30s.
