Located on the South bank of the San Antonio River, La Villita was one of San Antonio’s first neighborhoods and served in several iconic, historic Texas moments. In 1939, Mayor Maury Maverick dedicated the Mission of La Villita to preserving Arts.
Historic spot, shopping, jewelry, art galleries. Nice spot to visit while exploring downtown. "Little Village" was a native American settlement, cobblestone "streets"
La Villita use to be an old neighborhood back in the day. Today those homes are now being used as shops. They carry items such as artwork, souvenirs etc.
La Villita is a great place to walk around for a variety of local events and culture! This is also less than a mile from our studio! Walk or scooter over!
