Why locals recommend it
Very popular with affluent Islington locals, who come for the Scandinavian-inspired furniture and nik-naks. You’ll spot pieces from every imaginable designer, present and past, yet the storefront feels calm, thanks to the natural rugs laid out everywhere. And prices are surprisingly affordable. You’ll find plenty of things for under a tenner. The matchboxes designed by Lassen. They’re only a couple of pounds, and each one has a graphic pattern on the top that’s so nice you’ll want to put it on a shelf rather than using it to light your candles.

Twentytwentyone is one of the best companies around for furniture and home accessories. The shop is full of well-designed objects, with a small collection of books on design.
