This park was established to regenerate native forest, birds and wildlife. It is surrounded by a predator free fence and is a must see. Also home to NZ's tallest tree, which is Australian, however we don't mind :)

If you want to venture further afield, you can't go past the Orokonui Eco Sanctuary - a beautiful cafe and gift shop, and if you want to it is well worth the $20.00 entry fee (Adult) for exploring a native bird paradise. (Tip: Walk down to the tallest tree in New Zealand, a Eucalyptus!)
