The last working water-powered forge in England. 10 minutes walk away, well worth a visit.

Beautiful 19th Century water powered forge. Demonstrations of how the tools used to be made run every hour. It was originally used to produce agricultural and mining hand tools and at its peak produced around 400 edge tools a day.It remained an active foundry until 1960.

Walk across the moors to Sticklepath, nip into the Finch Foundry which is a 19th century water-powered forge. Gift shop for souvenirs. Lunch at the Taw River across the road!
