Victory Grill at 1104 E. 11th St. is Austin's first house of the blues. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it opened in 1945.
The nightclub was on the Chitlin' Circuit and hosted famous African American acts such as Bobby Bland, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, W. C. Clark and B. B. King when Austin was legally segregated. They continue to host incredible music acts to this day.

A historic center of Black music in Austin. This was a spot on the chitlin circuit in the early 20th century, and sometimes you can still catch a blues show here. Nextdoor there's a yard with food trucks and live jazz.
