A nice harbor without the crowds of Bar Harbor. 50 minutes southwest of the Cottage. Many fine restaurants and tourist shops, give Belfast a try if you want to avoid the huge tourist crowds in Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park.

Belfast is a great town - little shops and galleries, great food, the theater is good fun on an evening or a rainy day. We love, love, love the farmer's market and go there often. For walking fun, there's plenty to see in Belfast.

Galleries and eclectic shops. Try Vin O Liveo (misspelled), for a great mix of oils and vinegars. The cheese shop next to Chases is really good. Also Yo' Mamma's Home has all kinds of interesting items, you won't want to miss. Downtown is the Belfast Co Op for all organic food. There is a…
