Very peacful setting, wonderful blooming dispalys by Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Camellias Sept/October. Good sheltered walk in windy weather. Some good views.

Enjoy the peaceful surrounds and breathtaking views at the Waipahihi Botanical Reserve. Multiple walking tracks through various native and non-native trees. Top tip: Go at sunset to enjoy unbeatable views of the lake from the top of the gardens.

A great spot for a picnic or a quiet stroll. The reserve is situated high on a hill with occasional views over Great Lake Taupo & the mountains of the Tongariro National Park. The reserve is free to visit and is filled with native trees and plants that are developed and beautifully maintained by dedicated volunteers.
