Our favorite walk is through Hogwarts. Start your walk across the street at the large modern dorms and walk south. Wind your way through campus and get lost.

Hyde Park is home to the University of Chicago, Barack Obama’s Chicago home, gorgeous green space, and access to the sandy lakefront, plentiful cultural offerings, and a lively mix of community-focused locals. Strolling down Hyde Park’s tree-lined streets, you might spot chess players in the park, artists painting murals or students running to class in massive, gothic buildings. This eclectic quality gives the Southside neighborhood a small-town feel in the middle of a big, dynamic city. The restaurants are great - and are sure to delight even the pickiest of palettes - ( a few of my personal faves are Chant, 14 Pharish ,Ascione Bistro, and Virtue, however most places are good here) there is plenty of shopping and Nightlife . If you're down for a night in the town , have dinner at the Promontory then go upstairs to the club , have a few drinks and dance it off! If you want to keep the party going make our best Dive Bar- The Falcon inn your last stop. If youre lucky you can catch one of the great festivals that take lace each summer Hyde Park also features the museum of science and industry ( one of the "fun "museums in chicago ) as well as the beautiful Japanese Gardens ) one of my favorite parks ( I call it parakeet park because of all the parakeets there) off 53rd - Im not sure what its called but its big and has tons of activities for younger kids. Additionally its next to the lake shore drive trails and across the street from the lakefront.
