Why locals recommend it
Carette has specialized in pastries since 1927. Their macarons are some of the best in Paris, but if I want something savory, and to fill up for a busy day ahead, I’ll order an omelet with fresh herbs, ham, or cheese. There’s also a wide selection of teas and coffees, and they even have their own special recipe for hot chocolate. When the weather is warm, get there early for a table on the terrace and a grade A view of the Eiffel Tower.
Tips from locals
In Trocadero place, Carrete is one of the most Parisian 'café'. A very good place for breakfast or just a coffee.
A local institution situated on the iconic Trocadéro square, a salon de thé from the 20s that provides savory and sweet options. A little pricey but worth it (the portions are generous and it's delicious) ! Favourites are: raspberry tart and palmier with a good café crème.
For me the best macarons and patisseries in Paris, with a very old school service and ideally located right in front of the Eiffel Tower!
Carette is THE Spot of Parisians on Trocadero. It is the least touristic cafe/tea shop on Trocadero. From 7h to midnight, sit for a coffee, breakfast (best croissant in Paris, take away cheaper than sitting), a glass of wine, lunch or dinner. All will be served anytime of the day ... Oh, how can I…
