The only monument that survived from the Almoravid dynasty, it was built in the 12th century. The dome (koubba) is beautifully decorated.

The oldest surviving monument in Marrakech, the Almoravid Koubba was built in 1117 for the faithful to perform ablutions before prayers the nearby Mosque (now replaced). Enjoy the history and beautiful architecture on a self-guided tour for a small entrance fee

La petite oubliée des visiteurs ! Et pourtant nous avons ici le cœur historique de Marrakech avec ce monument datant du 11ème siècle. Une citerne permettant d'acheminer l'eau par des canalisations souterraines. A voir absolument pour qui veut parler sérieusement de Marrakech 😉 The little forgotten by visitors! And yet here we have the historic heart of Marrakech with this monument dating from the 11th century. A cistern for transporting water through underground pipes. A must see for anyone who wants to talk seriously about Marrakech 😉

La cupola di Almoravid a Marrakech, costruita nel 1064, rappresenta uno degli ultimi monumenti della cultura di Almoravid. Il suo scopo era una casa in cui i credenti praticavano l'abluzione vicino alla moschea di Ben Youssef. Rimase attivo per secoli. La sua acqua proveniva da un sistema sotterraneo delle montagne dell'Atlante e l'acqua scorreva da tubi di bronzo.
