This 120 year old lodge has some of the best views of the Bay Area. The two approaches are scenic and exemplary of Northern California wilderness. There is no electricity here, only gas lights and fireplaces. You need to pack in and pack out your food, water and gear. There are flush toilets and showers on-site. The Jack Boot approach is significantly more difficult than the Pantan - the latter can be done by small children. Make reservations ahead of time.

We love hiking to the West Point Inn - there are lots of different routes to get there. With kids, we recommend parking at Boot Jack and hiking 1.6 miles up the Old Stage fire road.
