Spec's used to be a museum, and still is in a way. The walls are covered with San Francisco quirky history! The grumpy bartender will pour a fine ale, and if you ask for "cheese and crackers" he will cut you a nice wedge of Edam for your dining pleasure. Just don't play the piano without asking.

This place has been home to literati and sailors alike. Go sit and have a drink and marvel at the collection dangling from the walls.

One of the most historic bars in all of San Francisco. Opened in 1968, Specs' has been home to a menagerie of misfits, from strippers and poets to longshoremen and merchant marines. It's a true dive.
