This is a popular tourist destination with many excellent restaurants. Arras is the town from which a successful attack was launched against the German forces at Vimy Ridge. This a a very historic town and also has a large underground city which was built by the Romans. It is approximately 1.5 hours drive from our holiday cottage, Beau Soleil.
Arras is the capital of the Pas-de-Calais region. Explore the city's architecture and historic buildings inc the Town Hall and its Belfry (a UNESCO World Heritage Site)
Arras is a must visit. Beautiful. Go inside the main town hall on the square and go down into the 70 miles of underground tunnels and secret underground WW1 and WW2 bases
