I wish I had never rented to Nickolaus, probably more than any other guest I have had in three years and I feel as if he has scammed me. I allowed his guest to check in early, and was told he was happy with the place. I checked on his group later that day and the next day, and did not receive any complaint, but a request from his mother to completely empty on closet that had some things on the top shelf and on the floor in the corner, which I did immediately. However, I had no complaints about anything, and was within easy reach for his entire visit. I did not get one complaint in the message thread or request to change, clean, or alter anything. Now, if you are a minimalist, this house has been lived in before, by me, and I try to provide all of the comfort of home and several sleeping options.
The house is as pictured, except for some things that have been updated, like the fact that the pool is now heated, there are more large screen flat TVs, and some new chairs where older ones are replaced. Most of the photos, in fact, were taken by an Airbnb photographer and accurately depict the place. I had 2 people clean the house, washing every sheet, duvet cover, and bathmat clean every bathroom, and mop every floor. I did not have any complaint, by phone, verbal, or on the message thread.
My first clue that Nikolaus was unhappy with my rental was when I read his review. At first, I was not going to respond. Then I found that he had requested a refund from Airbnb, which I now believe was the reason for his complaint. To this day, other than having some of my sweaters and things on the top shelves of a few closets, I don't know what he didn't like about the place, and I wish he and his group had not stayed.
