This cottage is off grid, perfect for hikers, nature lovers alike and anyone looking for a tranquil getaway. We have limited solar electricity, hot water and drinking water straight from a nearby mountain stream. We live simply and respect nature. The property is one of the highest private properties in this part of the mountains.

Braai and bonfire area outside. The wagon is fully insulated so is warm and cosy in winter and cool in summer.

Swissland Chalet, is on a cheese farm, along the KZN Midlands tourist route, close to Michaelhouse School. This quaint chalet has the most amazing views, overlooking natural bush and open valleys. It is a very tranquil, quiet and perfect place to unwind. In addition to this comfortable 2-bedroom double Storey chalet, it has a secluded rock pool, a step away from the front door. The farm road is 2.5km and a steep climb, low cars are not recommended.

Coffee shops and restaurants within a few minutes drive. Please note: there is a private pool, for hosts only, that isn't fenced off..

'River on my stoep' is a well equipped self-catering cottage in the Hekpoort Valley. The wooden cabin is on the Magalies River and is surrounded by the sounds of nature - the haunting cry of a jackal and a chorus of frogs is our music at night. One of the few places that you can still see fire flies at night (in summer) A rowing boat is moored in front of the cottage, exclusively for our guests. 'Catch-and-release' fishing is permitted.
