Tiny house holiday rentals in Western Bay of Plenty District

This garden studio was much bigger than the average studio. There was a dining table with bench seats, as well as a small couch next to the kitchenette. It was clean and tidy with everything we needed for 4 nights. Sandy is a lovely person and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Caron’s cabin was rustic and as described. Facilities were good for one night, Caron left us some eggs and fruit from the land. Caron greeted us on arrival and added some history to the cabin which was great. It was a great place for us to stay on our long drive down south. Be warned, creepy crawlies love the cabin also!!

Tony and his wife were really friendly. Tony was so prompt to messages entire time. As we were so late to check in he was so kind and waited for us to arrive until midnight. Also, he gave us a warning regarding transport at night time in case we needed it. The day we were leaving was 2 nights earlier than we planned, Tony gave us a refund. His wife was planning to take us around to show animals to my son as it had been raining the whole time and that was the only sunny day but we had to leave. I recommend this place if you want to have some private time as it is so quiet and peaceful.

We enjoyed 3 nights at Behind the hedge. Although other properties are near by,it’s very private with carefully placed screening. Loved the artistic touches, the beautiful bathroom, comfortable bed, outdoor seating and of course proximity to the beach! Also love the materials used for the build and the coffee table! Can’t fault it really. It was perfect for us. Thanks Jeff

Loved our stay at this very special place! This was our 3rd time back. Tracey is such a warm person and outstanding host! Her place is exactly what we needed after a busy year. The bay is particularly stunning in the evenings with the sunset views over the mountains. We’ll definitely be back again!

STAY HERE! If you’re in Tauranga or visiting Mount Maunganui it’s about a 10-15 min drive to each so you’re right in the middle. The surroundings are BEAUTIFUL. You can see the sunrise every morning over the jungle and hear the roosters and cows in the morning. If you’re lucky you’ll get a visit from their adorable cat Ella. The kitchen, bathroom and bed linens were clean and plentiful. There’s a “dairy” or convenience store a 3 min walk away. They were fantastic hosts that stocked the fridge with essentials and always made sure we had what we needed. They were attentive and quick to respond. We stayed at their tiny home for a month and it was a perfect retreat!

Perfect stay as a solo female traveller, felt safe and cozy with an indoor fireplace and enjoyed the tub with bubble bath provided which I appreciated. Overlooking a beautiful valley with birds chirping and an amazing garden. Really enjoyed taking a walk down the private lane and having pink lights come on at night! Unfortunately stayed during cyclone Tam however even without sunny weather the tiny home was stunning and such a special experience.

Jan was the perfect host, very attentive, friendly and helpful! We loved our stay, the surrounding was beautiful & very peaceful, with no service at the retreat, my partner & I was able to disconnect & enjoy our time together more intimately. The bath & our breakfast hamper were our favourite, would definitely come back again!

It was a unique and amazing experience to live amongst and connect with nature. Bella, Feta and Gregory were so friendly and adorable. We also got to see the glow worms which was a wonderful experience. Tabea is a kind and friendly host and went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable. Thank you Tabea :)

Great little place right on the beach. The home is far enough back where you have plenty of privacy and it is just a short little walk to the beach. The home is cozy and is a nice little beach house. Perfect place to spend a holiday.

Paula’s home was a great getaway. Peaceful and relaxing. Beds were comfortable, linens were clean. Very beautiful views. It’s an older home, so we knew what to expect, however it’s definitely dated and cleanliness could be improved. It did feel cozy though, so a few quick improvements can definitely go a long way :) Thanks for hosting us! Overall we had a great stay. We would recommend it to others.

Thank you for a wonderful stay in such a peaceful, spotless, and fun space, perfect for bird watching and a relaxing getaway. The little cabin is impressively well-equipped, just like a hotel. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches like the hammock and swing on the deck and backyard, even though the weather kept us from using the hammock this time. We were pleasantly surprised by how quiet the cabin was during heavy rain. It made for a great night’s sleep on the super comfy bed and pillows. And the overhanging reading net? Absolutely our favorite spot, especially with the great selection of books. Overall, this was an amazing tiny house experience. We’d love to come back—hopefully for a longer stay next time!

We were coming back to Auckland from Taupō and wanted to find a last minute place to stay to help break the drive up and found Craig and Jen’s beautiful location. Even though our request was very last minute, Craig responded very quickly and had the place cleaned up and ready to go by the time we got there. It had all the amenities that we required and some and the location was beautiful (and so were their 2 dogs). We did not have much time to explore the area, but we will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved our stay at Kates, she was very flexible about checking in which was such a help. Everything was tidy and perfect for our stay. Would 100% stay again. Also shout out for one of the comfiest beds I have ever slept in!!!!!!!

Had an amazing time at the fat fish over the Easter weeekend. We sadly didn’t get the full Waihi Beach experience as it bucketed down with rain most of our stay until the very last day (of course 😅) but still enjoyed the beautiful pristine accomodation. Jeanette was a star the whole time, very attentive, friendly and accomodating to all our needs. Recommend to anyone contemplating booking this listing, I know my husband and I will definitely be coming back again, hopefully in beach exploring weather. Oh my gosh the outside bath was definitely a highlight for me, even with the rain hitting my face constantly it created a tropical feel. The whole place was stunning, cute, and intimate. There’s a market every Sunday I believe, that we were lucky enough to catch, and it’s not too far from location. It isn’t a very large market but they have a lot of cute trinkets and good food, who doesn’t love a market? If you’re looking for a place in Waihi Beach to stay then this is your spot. A 10!

Ryan's place is exactly as described. The contactless (and hassle free) check in made the surf shack feel like it was my personal space. I could really see myself living in a place like this! Close to direct beach access and with several coffee and brunch spots near by, this accom was the perfect place to unwind!

Fantastic place to stay. This is our second time here and enjoyed it just as much as the first time and plan again to stay here. Amy is friendly and easy to contact. 5 min walk to the beach an great restaurants around. Pap House is a must as well as the Great Spice Indian.

My dad and his partner had a lovely time at Deb's place! The perfect tiny home getaway.
