It is suited with modern, state of the art appliances. Water sports equipment is at the house which includes kayaks, paddle boards and snorkeling gear. The property is quiet and secure and is about 15 minutes from the airport. Housekeeping and concierge services are available at no extra cost but tips are encouraged.
“We arrived July 17 and left Aug. 8. Location is great. Beach in front of house is perfect for small children or adults . No waves but crystal clear water. This house is very private. The house has a emergency generator. Almost no neighbors. We had friends coming in for a week at a time and all had the time of their life. Life at the north end of Andros is not in the fast lane. The grocery stores have everything you need about 15 minutes away by car. A rental car is a must. You must get breakfast souse at the take-a-way on the way to the airport not too far from the "superstore" grocery. Also in Lowe's Town about 15 minutes away a conch burger is a must. Flowie runs the Conch Shack. Her conch burgers and Ceviche are the best I have ever had. And by all means schedule a family dinner at Lenny's Poop Shack. The Poop Shack only opens by reservation. Fantastic food and an excellent experience. They are very few other tourist on north Andros. The Bahama people on north Andros want you there. Everybody is friendly. Robby's Place has two key people. Edie and Ron. Edie takes care of the house and Ron is mechanical and the fishing guild. When your vacation is over you will be leaving friends in these two people. If you must be catered to like Nassau tourist then this is not your place. If you want a knock down fabulous location, natural privacy, no lights to ruin your night sky viewing, not seeing another person on the beach, cooking your own fish, lobster, and conch, very friendly locals, and privacy then this is your place.”
Beautiful Oceanfront Home, private location with miles of secluded beach. Pleasant Dreams located on Pleasant Harbor in Northern Andros, is completely secluded and surrounded by coconut palms, island habitat, white sandy beaches and turquoise ocean.
“This place is amazing. I almost don't want to say how great it is because it will get too booked up. We can't wait to come back. The location is pristine, so private, right on the beach. The house arrangement is really nice with master bedroom/bath on one side of the living area, and two bedrooms with a shared bath on the other side. Steve is such a responsive host - he gave us a lot of help setting up transportation to the island and car rental. The island is NOT touristy, very remote, few restaurants/shops, so be patient. Feel free to ask local people for help and directions frequently. Everyone is super friendly. There are very few street signs. We were really glad we had the rental car. We would definitely recommend snorkeling with Charley and having Judy prepare a local meal early in your stay especially Sunday, Monday, or Wednesday nights when a lot of local places are closed for church. Bring sunscreen and bug spray! We did appreciate the bedroom air conditioners at night. The whole week was blissful.”

“We want to thank Robert, Norris and Alice for our great winter vacation experience on Mangrove Cay, Andros, Bahamas. Mangrove Cay is a remote location so you are guaranteed a quiet and low stress vacation. Robert was an excellent host. He ensured all aspects of our vacation were addressed. He met us at the Nassau airport with a great Bahamian welcome and then took us to the grocery store for food supplies for our stay at the villa. Although there are 2 small grocery stores on Mangrove Cay, the food prices are much higher and supplies are very limited compared to Nassau grocery stores. We flew into Mangrove Cay on LeAir. Upon arrival at the airport, we were met by Norris and he drove us to the villa after a tour of the island. Robert had our car rental ready for us at the villa, which we highly recommend. The villa is very clean and well-appointed with appropriate furniture for lounging and relaxing. We highly recommend the dinners prepared by Norris. Every meal was 5-star quality. The kitchen had ample kitchen supplies to allow for light cooking. Although there are limited restaurants on the island, we highly recommend doing lunch at the Conch Shack in Moxytown. Robert made arrangements for great bonefishing guides. Our guides, DJ and Douglas, were top notch. We highly recommend hiring a guide to fish the western side of the Andros. This is truly a unique and remote environment of saltwater flats and mangroves with exceptional bonefishing. More importantly, the flat in front of the villa is very productive on low incoming tides. There were some issues with the remoteness of Mangrove Cay. There were periods of time with very low water pressure, no internet, and power outage. Other things to consider are the beaches on Mangrove Cay. The beach in front of the villa is not well developed because there is coral and limestone with sharp edges between the beach sand and water. We had to wear our flats wading shoes to walk into the water. Although there are numerous beach access points on the island, there are few maintained and developed. We had a great time on Mangrove Cay. We were treated as family by Robert, Norris, and Alice. If you are looking for a quit vacation with no stress, lots of reading time, and great bonefishing, then we recommend booking at Mangrove Cay Seaside Villas. Regards, Jim and Karen Washington, DC”
