“Lisa was a wonderful host. Her house is very spacious and comfortable. We felt very at home while staying with Lisa. The views in the living room are some of the best I have seen and the sunset was breathtaking. Lisa was a great communicative host that had great suggestions for local wineries. A+ would suggest for anyone to stay at her home”

“We were there for an MLK weekend getaway, so we got to see the lovely stream flowing nicely after recent rains, and contributing to a peaceful feeling about the place. Tucked into the woods on the end of the street, it is miles away--physically & psychically--from the town of Calistoga, or for that matter from Santa Rosa. Didn't mean to be rude to our hosts, but everything was self-explanatory and well laid out, so had no problems and no real need to bother them. We came and went a lot, and it was restful and peaceful inside late afternoons and evenings, ensconced on the peaceful wooded hillside. Spent most of our time in Calistoga--felt a little 'Rip Van Winkle', as it had been decades since I'd been there and everything changed from what I remember. Restaurants are more varied and higher quality. There are more spa offerings--we enjoyed a good deal from Calistoga Spa Hot Springs; they let you use the pool all day and can bring in food/drinks, even booze...just keep glass away from pool areas. And...there are more people coming here. Clearly they had the same idea in mind that we did, and did lend to some congestion. Take-home lesson--plan ahead and make reservations early to get better spa or wine tasting appointment times. (It was a 'wine passport' weekend as well, so a number of folks were here for that.) Start early as lots of wineries and parks close early-ish (may be more important in winter, since the sun is gone earlier too.)”
