Welcome to our minimalist tiny house 30 minutes (17.6 miles) from the South entrance of Yosemite! Our tiny house is parked next to our small home where my husband and I live in our beautiful town, Oakhurst, with our two rescue llamas. When you stay with us, you'll have the whole tiny house to yourself which features a "real" bathroom (hot shower, flushing toilet, and sink) as well as a downstairs bedroom with a queen bed all in a cozy farmhouse style.
“Our stay in Samantha's tiny house was lovely. First off, it was way warmer than I expected. With temperatures in the 30s outside at the time of visit, the idea of staying in a little cabin made me cold already. But it was surprisingly well warmed, posing no issue whatsoever. In fact, the whole tiny house was much cosier and better thought-out than I expected. Second, the idea of arriving in a small unknown cabin in the woods at night made my travel partner quite nervous. Samantha's thoughtful touches, nice little notes spread out around the house, and the four funny lamas sitting close by immediately diffused that tension and made her feel more comfortable. Finally, Samantha and her family were very respectful of our privacy, and we in fact did not even see each other ! But from the communication, to the thoughtful touches around the house, and the obvious effort to give us space, I can safely assume that they are kind and loving people. A big thanks for making this a very special stay. Oh, and sipping on a beer while having a staring contest with the lamas was one of the highlights of my stay :) See you next time !”
Relish your private getaway at the finest home and location in the area. Just 10 minutes to Bass Lake, and 20 minutes to Yosemite. Enjoy the spectacular view and soothing sounds of a 25 foot waterfall from the expansive patio deck.
“Amazing Beautiful home. Pictures definitely do no justice for an actual visit. The water fall is beautiful, and so Close. House was super clean, spacious, and had everything we need to make our stay comfortable. We visited Lewis creek "a must" A sight worth the hike. Local stores near by if you need anything. So much to do in the surrounding area. Nice to be in Nature. Yelena (Super Host) was super friendly with a great since of humor, and was only a phone call away if I needed anything. Our stay was definitely the family time get away we needed..”
Farmer John speaks English & German. He has a large garden, goats, pigs, turkeys & chickens. Families are welcome! Living close to Yosemite National Park & Bass Lake is a plus, but Oakhurst has hiking trails, movie theater, all types of food, a micro brewery & a vegan restaurant! Your privacy will be respected, but the hosts are friendly & will accompany you with the animals or while you sample from the garden. Exterior improvements are underway, so they are renting at a lower price.
“John treated us as very well, he is very kind, and after we left I understood that it is because he is a man with a good heart. And how will he not be? if someone who treats so many animals with love and dedication, he alone and without help, has to be a good man, and therefore very happy and in the same way he treats his guests with that dedication, punctuality, respect and much affection. He has a good sense of humor and shares with you the information you need. From the first afternoon I thanked him in person for opening his house for the people, Californians and foreigners. John puts everything you need in the room, even when I thought that the small individual bags of sugar for my coffee had run out, I could smile when there was a dispenser with a lot of sugar on my side for my satisfaction. The next morning you will find a wonderful breakfast buffet with eggs from his own farm and delicious natural jams. Before you go you can turn to see the animals again, which are very docile and even seem to smile at you. You have restaurants nearby, stores and gas stations. 20 minutes away is Lake Bass which is beautiful and 30 minutes from the south entrance of Yosemite national park. I am one of those looking for unique experiences and I can say that staying at John's house is a beautiful experience. My family and I left John’s house with a big smile. Thanks John, may you always be well.”
