It's a place that's right for the price. Its location is easy to find. An exceptional host, their kindness and hospitality are great.

If you are looking for an out of the way escape from the city and a real country or “finca” experience, this is your place. However, I would recommend driving or renting an SUV with decent ground clearance. The place is very easy to find with Waze GPS or Google Maps by searching “Hato the Farm”. No four wheel drive needed, but the dirt road to the place has spots where a low car will definitely scrap bottom if you’re not careful. The dirt road is maintained and used by the municipality and locals, so it’s not impassible. We rented a car at the airport to get there, and everything went well, but if you’re not used to dirt roads and winding roads, this will be a learning experience! :-) The place itself was an open floor plan with plenty of space to sleep 12+ people. Everything was clean and well maintained and the local caretaker (Sonia) was extremely sweet and helpful for all our needs. If you’re lucky and nice enough :-) , she can point you to local spots for swimming and hiking that are off the beaten path and empty of people, but full of amazing views, cold mountain water for swimming, and a true Colombian countryside experience that was enjoyable and as safe as any place I’ve visited. The local tienda (general store) will deliver without cost of delivery for whatever food and drink you need, although tipping the delivery boy is a good idea. The property had many different varieties of fruit trees, which we were invited to pick for super and delicious fresh orange juice in the morning or whatever else you can pick. Overall, staying in Manuel’s place was an amazing and relaxing experience and we will return and rent the place again! Although, we’ll make sure to get a vehicle with higher ground clearance for the road up.

The house was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed. Excellent space for rest, disconnect from day to day and enjoy the scenery. It is beautiful to wake up with the singing of the birds, the weather is very nice, there are many things to do, the locals are very friendly. The house is just like the photos, the hosts were impeccable, very friendly and attentive to what we needed, we were recommended by the tours of the region, which we really enjoyed. Near the place is a restaurant with very friendly people, they sell a delicious meal and help with what one needs. A place to repeat many times. Thank you for everything.
