Coco Oasis is a newly renovated boutique lodge in the heart of lively Bakau, The Gambia. The lovely lodge has six huts and a swimming pool. Each hut has a bedroom with a double bed, a living room with a sofa bed, a bathroom and a terrace on the front of the house with a table and two chairs. There are comfortable sun beds and chairs around the swimming pool to relax. We offer our guest airport transportation and trips and rent Jeeps with drivers. Welcome!
“The place: Its taken good care of and the bungalows are in a (mostly) new state. Warm water is available. The experience: If you are looking for a very nice place to stay in an authenic gambian town, this place is for you! It might be hard to find, so let Hanna arrange a taxi for you or ask the locals for bakau lodge (old name of the place). Hanna and Eva really took great care of us and they will do everything to make you feel welcome! Check out the crocodile pool with the manager of the place he knows everything about it, or go on a tour to Fatthala in Senegal. This was a real nice experience (not just the park) but the whole trip was a great experience, seen things we have never seen before. Also we went to 2 local partys wich were great with nice reagge music. Will miss you Hanna and Eva!”
My place is close to restaurants and dining, the beach, and nightlife. My place is good for couples, business travelers, and families (with kids).
“I had a fabulous time: Pa is a very kind host who cares about the well-being of his guests. The apartment is even more beautiful in real life, super clean and very beautiful decoration. Pa's welcome, the beauty of the house and the amenities made me want to come back to the neighbourhood very soon. I recommend Pa's apartment, for sure you will not be disappointed...better, you will want to share your experience with those you love”
Enjoy a stay in a real Gambian family. Mama Aminata and her children welcome you with a smile in their 'compound'.
“Paulien helps the Aminata family to find guests for their homestay and that ensures very smooth communication. Aminata is a very warm and pleasant woman, she lives with her family on the estate. The rooms are separate from theirs and are very large, you have a lot of privacy. When you come out, you are in the common 'garden' and you can meet her children and grandchildren. It is a real authentic introduction to a Gambian family, the rooms are neat, the food is tasty. The daughter of Aminata braided my daughters with her and her son took us to explore the city. They all speak English fluently, which makes communication very easy. They are warm and spontaneous people! People who really want to get to know Gambia, I can definitely recommend this place to stay! The location is very good for doing different excursions from here, the distances are very achievable.”
