Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Barrydale

Really enjoyed our stay with friends and family! Nice and spacious with everything you may need. All attractions are a close walk away, which is a huge added bonus.

We had a wonderful stay at Klaasvoogds Opstal with close friends over Easter weekend. This is our second stay on the farm, and what stands out most is that Jane always goes the extra mile to ensure guests are comfortable and that you have access to everything you will need during your stay. She made great recommendations for places to visit in and around Robertson, which we appreciated. Overall, the Opstal was cosy and spacious. We particularly noticed the beautiful rose garden and enjoyed breathtaking views from the stoep. Looking forward to our next visit.

Great stay in Montagu at Yvette’s place! It is spacious and beautifully decorated, fully equipped for a short or long stay with everything you might need. The views of the lake are spectacular and the whole environment is tranquil and calming. Very relaxing and would highly recommend!

Most enjoyable stay. Very quiet, safe and peaceful for those who want to escape the rush of everyday life. The fact that the house has no electricity, gives the place an even bigger charm. Heleen is a super host and has assisted us in a most friendly and helpfull manner, even with issues not related to our stay.

A nice place to stay in a lovely town. We arrived in the rain, so walking wasn't a great option, but a short drive to restaurants. We struggled a bit with the directions to get in but Alida arrived within minutes to help us out. Wine was appreciated after a long days drive.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is situated in what seems to be a small valley. We used our time to walk into several directions including the rock pools and the bokmakierie trail. You have to walk this one as it takes you very high above the surroundings and gives you beautiful view all around. We regularly went to do our own game drives on the designated roads as we didn't had a 4x4 but still with a vehicle with high clearance. We saw a lot of Springbok, Gemsbok, Eland and Bontebok. We also did a bit of bird watching at the main dam early in the morning. The rest of the time just lounging around of course. The host was very responsive of our needs and questions. We would definitely be visiting Drie Kuilen again.

We really had a relaxing and comfortable stay on the farm. We experienced all sorts of weather from really hot days to stormy chilly nights but through it all we were comfortable at the cottage. We walked the farm roads flat, inspected interesting fynbos, and really just soaked in the views. Sunrises and sunsets were something to write home about, so spectacular. Montague is a short drive away and Barrydale not to far either. Danielle and fam were very welcoming and accommodating making sure we had everything we needed. I definitely recommend this cottage.

Had a great stay at A Hilltop Country Retreat. The place was super equipped to feed yourself. There are two pools and each small bungalow has its own beautiful terrace with braai.

Danielle was an incredible host. Her place is beautiful and secluded, you really feel like you’re out of the city. The mountain views are breathtaking and there’s so much walking you can do. Danielle was quick to respond and very accommodating even when we had a bit of loadshedding. She’s incredible and I recommend this place. It’s clean, it’s homey. It’s beautiful and the kitchen is stocked with most things you would need.

I would highly recommend for any single person or couple visiting Swellendam. Even though you are in town you look out across the river and big trees which creates the sense of being on a farm. Bed was very comfortable and flexible check-in.

We had a really great stay, it is a beautiful location with easy access to Montague and Barrydale. Danielle gave us some really great suggestions for things to do in the area. The farm has some nice walks, and the roads are well kept, very accessible for cars, no 4x4 needed. The farm has some very friendly dogs as well. They were kind enough to provide us with wood and a well equipped kitchenette. I highly recommend it.

My hubby had a very comfortable stay in Sanita’s place. He said it was perfect for his race weekend

The Hacienda is the perfect place to unwind, braai and gaze at an incredible views for a few days. We got unlucky with the weather as it rained for half our time there, so if you are visiting in winter definitely take food that doesn’t need to be bbq’d or cooked in an oven and some games - definitely somewhere I would want to come back to in the summer! We had an amazing time staying at this beautiful house. Megan and Mike were incredibly welcoming. The house was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was fully equipped and the living and dining areas were perfect for our party of ten. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with fantastic hosts.

We stayed one night and really wish we were staying longer! The house is amazing, the grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed exploring the eating and drinking options in the village. Joe and Esther are friendly and provided great suggestions. We enjoyed our stay and if we come back to South Africa in the future this is on our list to return! Thank you for a lovely stay!

Beautiful surroundings, spacious villa Well equip kitchen with everything needed. Beds are comfortable, with fresh clean linen. Would like to stay at the other kleine windpompie accommodation. Peaceful with a stunning view. Recommended for big families.

We had a wonderful time at Lisa’s place in the Karoo. The air was fresh and crisp, the sunrises and sunsets were spectacular and the house was very comfortable and homely. The Karoo landscape was pure magic. The views of the mountains were beautiful and we loved all the different birds and their songs. What a treat! We could have stayed much longer and we were sad to go. Thanks for sharing your home with us Lisa, we loved staying there.
