Birken Cottage – Holidays at the Herbsthausen Sawmill

Our three one-room apartments — Ahorn, Linde, and Birke — combine the historic charm of Herbsthausen with contemporary design. Each apartment is completely unique and has been modernized by us. They offer space for two to three people each. The apartments are part of “Herbsthausen”, an cultural project in the town of Gartow. We are renovating a historic sawmill and transforming it into a future-oriented place for art, industrial heritage, living, working, international exchange, and relaxation.

Spacious apartment in the Fischerhaus Havelberg

The former fisherman's house is an old half-timbered house from 1775 (cultural monument) and is located on the southern slope of the Domberg. The special thing about this house is the building materials. Only natural building materials such as wood, clay, lime, brick, hemp lime insulation and lime terrazzo floors were used. The house is open to diffusion and ensures an excellent indoor climate. From here you have a beautiful view over the Havelauen to the south and to the north on the vineyard.

Vacation home

Welcome to our stylish holiday apartment – ideal for families, groups and friends. Completed in 2022, the accommodation offers modern living comfort over approx. 170 m². You can expect a spacious, open-plan living and dining area with a fully equipped kitchen, four separate bedrooms, two bathrooms and a sofa bed for two more guests. Space for up to 10 people. The highlight is the bright living area with high ceilings, open timber-framed walls and glazed Tennentor overlooking the village square.

Time out in the forest with an oven and sauna!

In the middle of the forest, on a clearing, 3 km from the beautiful town of Gartow, lies our special retreat. If you are looking for peace and quiet in nature and value simplicity and goodness, this is the place. The old half-timbered building, a former stable, was renovated with high quality and sustainably with natural materials. Clay plaster on the walls and the wood-burning stove guarantee an excellent indoor climate, and the walk to the wood-fired sauna promises absolute relaxation!

Villa Baben - Vacation in the countryside 1

Relax in this quiet, stylish accommodation. The apartment is about 85 m² and lovingly furnished. From the kitchen there is a large terrace that leads directly into the greenery via an open staircase. During the summer months, our pool can also be used by our guests. The cities of Tangermünde, Stendal, Arneburg are easy to reach at only about 15 km each. A self-service market is 1.5 km away and a train station is 2 km away. Stag parties, company parties or similar are not welcome.

Our lovingly renovated holiday home combines historic half-timbered charm with modern comfort. Bright rooms, a fully equipped country house kitchen, cosy living area, stylish bedrooms and a spacious bathroom ensure a real feel-good atmosphere. The garden with pool invites you to relax – ideal for families, those seeking peace and quiet and all those who love something special. From mid-2026, a sauna will be added to the offer – for relaxing breaks at any time of the year.

Apartment in the Birkholz estate house

The former Bismarck estate house, built in 1770 and completely renovated in 2009, is an ideal place for vacations and also workation - for working and relaxing. The stylishly furnished separate apartment (155 sqm) with private entrance, underfloor heating, antique tiled stove, a workplace, a fully equipped kitchen and a hot tub next to the apartment's own terrace as well as a sauna cottage in the extensive park offers the possibility of a varied break in every season.

Vacation home "Am Tangerberg"

Welcome to Tangermünde. The vacation rental is located in a vacation home with 2 other vacation rentals. The old town of Tangermünde with all its sights, cafes, restaurants and shops is only a few minutes' walk away (about 400 m). In addition, you will find the harbor promenade, the Tangier and the Elbe wetlands in the immediate vicinity (about 300 m). Our apartment is the ideal base for exploring the old town of Tangermünde and the Elbe landscape.

One-room apartment in the Lehm und Land half-timbered building

The one-room apartment is cozy and perfect for a couple or a person. In the Altmark, time is often a little slower, and therein lies its charm. Here you can hear the wind in the trees, the occasional ringing of the church bell in a neighbouring village, the chirping of crickets in summer and the distant call of wild birds. The landscape creates an atmosphere that conveys tranquillity and frees the eye for the essentials.

Time out on the Mittelland Canal

Visit us in our small apartment (30 m²) in a quiet location overlooking the Mittelland Canal. The large garden, which you are welcome to use, and the wind-protected terrace promise relaxation in almost any weather. Parking for bicycles is available on the property (partially covered). This is also the habitat of our Labrador mix Luci. The journey by car to Magdeburg is 15 minutes and to Haldensleben 21 minutes.

Haus am Elm

Escape everyday life and enjoy a break in nature at Haus am Elm. Our cozy 35 m² log cabin, surrounded by a spacious garden, is the ideal retreat for nature lovers. Relax in a cozy bedroom or on the cozy sleeping floor. The open kitchen and living room with pullout couch offer space to feel good. The fireplace ensures warm, cozy evenings – perfect for a relaxing break in the heart of the Elm-Lappwald.
