“The host family is great. Arranged his friend to meet us at the airport. After arriving, carefully prepared homemade maps, recommended various cost-effective restaurants, 30k per person can be very satisfied. No need to worry about going to Borobudur, because it only takes 5 minutes to walk. Since we are going to watch the sunrise, the host IKA drove us to the attraction at 4 am, took us to the best viewing point, had a buffet breakfast at the attraction, and picked up We returned to the homestay without any extra charge. The room facilities may not be comparable to a star hotel, but it is very clean, the air conditioning and cooling effect is great, the bathroom is a separate water heater, the water is large and can be adjusted to a very hot temperature, which is great in Southeast Asia. The IKA family is very enthusiastic and always welcomes us with a smile.”

“We cannot speak highly enough of our time at Bobby’s Janur Bungalow. The space is a gorgeous landscaped tropical paradise! Complete with a relaxing pool (they even served breakfast and drinks to us while lounging in the pool!). Bobby, his family, and staff were absolutely wonderful, warm, helpful, and a joy. While there we spent time relaxing poolside, and watching some beautiful sunsets, but also did a sunrise visit to the Borobudur Buddhist temple, we took the bikes available and did a scenic (and hot) ride through the peaceful countryside. One of our favorite parts of our visit was the “cooking experience” which was truly an experience. Bobby took us to a local market where he taught us about the produce, as much of it was ingredients new to me, and we also purchased the ingredients we later used. We were then provided hands-on instruction in his kitchen, learning to make a variety of INCREDIBLE FOODS! So so tasty and fun and it was a true feast when we were done! Bobby offered a variety of other experiences, and is very accommodating and willing to work with you to find what you’d like to do, and has a driver, Hari, who can help you get around the area with ease. We loved our time here!”
Genthong Homestay is located at the heart of Borobudur Village. It is only 5 to 10 minutes walk to the gate. We have some fruits that you can pick by yourself. Enjoy yourself with the tropical fruits fresh from the tree. Our motto is that we put friendship in every room we sell.
“We booked this place on the day we arrived. They were quick to respond to our requests. Gave directions to find his home. Upon arrival, we were greeted, given the key to our separate building cottage, were served coffee, the cottage was spotless. He informed us of some of the local cuisine and were to get it. Our plans were to go to Borobudur Temple to watch the sunrise. He texted us in the morning to make sure we were awake, gave directions how to get there, and also informed us the cost of tickets. After our outing and returned to the cottage, the Mrs. greeted us and again made fresh coffee. If this place is available when you are planning to go to Borobudur, you would be remiss if you did not book it.”
