“We arrived, at this little piece of paradise, after a long, hot drive . We were greeted by a cooling grape vine covering the veranda and as we stepped inside the cottage ducted aircon refreshed us. The juxtaposition of old and new in this historic cottage was fabulous. We loved the wide wooden floorboards, high ceilings, well appointed kitchen, the lighting, the art. The olive oil, sourdough bread and red wine vinegar. Yum . The bedroom with fireplace, ceiling fan, fabulous king size bed with romantic mosquito net canopy, again a fireplace in the bedroom, and then the climax of it all , another adjoining room with a huge oval spa bath, set on wide timber floorboards, in front of its own fireplace . Quirky art & sculptures adorning the walls, romantic dimmable lighting. The bathroom was well appointed & immaculate. Double french doors opened onto a private covered deck overlooking a park of sorts. A prefect romantic getaway. Becky is a super friendly host. And nothing was too much trouble . We were visited by a brown hen, who sat on our lap and asked for a cuddle . Ample restaurants & antique shops nearby . We can’t wait to return !! Next time we will stay longer .”

“What a wonderful experience it was to stay with Rob and Stef at 'A la Folly'. I stayed in the campers room for one night and found everything I needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Stef has thought of everything and her helpful and friendly advice about the area and its flora and fauna added to a pleasurable visit. The gardens and courtyards are delightful, with stylish touches throughout. I found the location easily and enjoyed my walk along the river from the property.”
Carlisle Lodge is an alpaca stud situated in the Adelaide Hills abundant in bird and native wildlife. Guest will enjoy stunning rural views with easy access to cellar doors and restaurants. The unit is self contained isolated from the main residents with only Bernard & Sue on the property. You will enjoy over 80 acres of free space filled with fresh county air, great walks along the creek down to the Dawesley ruins while meeting the friendly alpacas. "Great place to escape the crazy 2020 year"
“Loveley alpaca farm just outside of Nairne. Less than 7km from Mt Barker, yet feels quite secluded and peaceful. Nairne had some lovely little shops, cafe's etc. Make sure you visit Marketplace in Littlehampton, if your looking for some local produce, baked goods, cheeses, preserves and Adelaide Hills flowers. Sue and Bernard were lovely hosts and made me feel very welcome. I was allowed to explore the property in my own time. Bernard was nice enough to let me know to go meet alpacas before forecasted rain arrived. Nice touches, such as vase full of lovely red roses from their gorgeous garden on table upon arrival, fridge full of cooked breakfast ingredients, Nippys OJ, milk and some strawberries & camembert to have with bottle of Howards wine. (Howards Vineyard just down the road) Bread, and continental brekkie supplies in pantry. Accompanying condiments were all supplied. Nespresso pod machine with pods and even a bag of Fruchocs. You would want for nothing if you wanted to stay put. Plenty to explore, and if you've had enough of alpacas, walk along the creek, running between the female & male alpacas. Looking forward to returning in October, when its greener and creek is flowing. Highly recommend this AirB&B if you love animals, nature & of course alpacas. Oh there are also a few horses and a Persian farm cat named Greg, who loves visitors.🦙🐎🐈”
