Our modern, meticulously clean, 'home away from home’ is privately nestled in our back garden (away from the street) with mature trees, covered deck, private lawn & garden. The cottage is a separate dwelling from the hosts house with its own access. Guests enjoy; a well equipped full kitchen, dbl glazing/insulation, air con/heat pump, great shower, comfortable queen bed & quality bedding. Parking is on hosts front drive.
“Alison and Al are the perfect hosts. The cottage is cute and tidy. It has everything you could need and more. Alison has thought of everything, the kitchen is well equipped, the cottage has plenty of room that you don't ever feel like there isn't enough space. The place is warm, we never had an issue with being too hot or cold. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. Alison has a great little guide inside the cottage for the area as well so you can explore and get to know the place. It is an excellent location as it is quiet and easy to get around the Wairarapa. We would stay again.”
Welcome to 8 Hartley Avenue in the southern end of Carterton in the beautiful Wairarapa. My home is just over 2 years old and makes an ideal base for a weekend break. Although you will be sharing access to my home I can arrange for my German Shepherd (Echo) to leave you in peace with a gate in the corridor. Your room, bathroom and lounge are essentially in a separate wing of the house and you can be self contained or join us on the deck to watch the sunsets over the Tararua Ranges.
“Paul was an amazing host who was very forthcoming and easy to talk to. He made us feel home immediately. Best of all, and to our surprise, we had a completely private section to ourselves in his house, including our own bathroom and a lounge with a TV and a little fridge. Paul even provided us with breakfast, which was kind of new to us as we have never before stayed with somebody who took the "Bed and Breakfast" so literally. His dog Echo is a super friendly and calm German shepherd and doesn't seem to mind visitors / strangers at all. However, for people who are not comfortable around dogs, Paul had a "toddler-barrier" installed between the corridor and his guest rooms. All in all, we had a really great stay and can only recommend staying at Paul's.”
A cosy and quiet sleepout in our beautiful back garden. Greytown shops are just 100m away and the bowling club is next door. Perfect for people attending local events such as Toast Martinborough and other festivals. Great for a couple wanting to relax and explore the area with bikes available for use. It could also be used as a place to work with fast and reliable free wifi and a comfy desk area in the room.
“Ben’s place was warm, comfortable and clean. There is no kitchen but we were allowed to leave some items in the fridge in the garage which was helpful, thank you! Was great being able to relax in bed and watch Friends on their Netflix capable TV. In great proximity to shops and Main Street. Thanks heaps :)”
