Hi. We are Ian and Carola. We are located just 5 minutes from the city center. We offer a lovely sunny room (Double bed), and quiet garden retreat. Please be aware that our location does not suit guests who are solely reliant on public transport. Due to our location you will need to have access to a vehicle, and free secure parking is available here.
“Ian is a fantastic host offering genuine kiwi hospitality! I had a wee bit of trouble finding his place when arriving in the dark since it was difficult to see the house number but after double checking the directions he had sent, I found it quick. Which leads me to this great advice: listen to Ian! He was excellent to talk to over breakfast and the places he suggested to visit were top notch. I really enjoyed his local knowledge. As other reviews have mentioned, breakfast is delicious and plentiful! The room was cozy and warm despite some dreary winter weather, which is a true luxury in NZ. I particularly loved all the Kiwiana touches. Ian was also accommodating in letting me use the conservatory space to work out. I would come back and stay with Ian again happily, and hopefully get a chance to meet Carola as well!”
WaiNot enjoy our newly decorated ,fully self contained, cosy cottage in Waikite Valley on a 15ha Dairy cow grazing block. Centrally located between Rotorua (25 minutes) and Taupo (45 minutes), just off SH 5. Relax in privacy, experience rural NZ, sounds of nature, peace and quiet while enjoying stunning views over the Waikite Valley. And only a short drive from some amazing thermal attractions. Escape and enjoy an amazing piece of rural New Zealand and maybe meet a friendly cow along the way.
“A lovely place set on a hill in the country. It is immaculate and with everything you would need for a few days away from the rat race. You can see the steam from the local thermal area and hot pools a few hundred metres away. A bit of drizzle couldn't dampen our spirits or stop us from taking a farm tour where we got to meet the cows. Four very happy city boys indeed.”
My place is close (a short drive) to tourist attractions and the cycleways and trails that Rotorua is famous for. It's a peaceful and quiet space, the cosiness of the generous comfy beds, and the kitchen and en suite shower make for a great stay. Couples, solo or twin adventurers, and business travellers, even a 3rd person (15 or older) if sleeping preferences permit (the single bed can be separated by a curtain from the Queen bed). There are no specific safe play areas for children.
“An awesome place to stay - handy to lots of the attractions but tucked away in a peaceful setting. This well appointed studio had everything for our 4 day visit including some extra touches which was lovely. Doug greeted us on arrival and also came to chat at the end of our stay. Definitely stay here if you are in Rotorua. You won’t be disappointed”
