Beachfront holiday rentals in Central Otago

We had the most amazing time at the River House. The house is fantastic, perfect amenities and right on the river. Jo was a fantastic communicator so helpful with any questions we had and we greatly appreciated Ken ensuring we had enough firewood. We had a lovely time and we were so sad to leave. Thanks Jo and Ken for your amazing hospitality.

Firstly let us say everything about this property is simply stunning, the space, the views, the location and did I mention the views.. As hosts, Kelly and Chris were so responsive and helpful. We would hope to return at some time, unfortunately while we were there our stay was impacted with noise from an adjacent property hosting a wedding. We reported this to Chris and Kelly who intend to take the matter further. This does not impact our desire to return nor does it affect the five star review this property deserves.

This is a fantastic place to stay in Wanaka. The house is huge with lots of "breakout" areas when multiple families are travelling together. The location is a 10-15 min stroll from shops and restaurants. The Wanaka Tree is a 1 minute walk from the back door. We loved sitting outside with a morning coffee watching the sun rise over the lake.

Beautiful views and great location made this an ideal Airbnb , well suited to our group of four. It’s conveniently located near the Royal Albatross Centre, where we got great views of the Albatross community and the return of the blue penguins after dark. We also enjoyed looking at the artwork in the house.

We loved our stay! Short 10 min drive to the city, 7 minutes to the Frankton grocery store. The kitchen has everything you need for home cooking, and good quality supplies at that. Their carbon steel pan is the best pan I’ve ever used in my life…. I am buying one as soon as we get home. The view of the lake is stunning, and the host was very communicative. 10/10 would highly recommend!

Location was great, a short drive to the heart of Queenstown, peacefully tucked away from the main road. The walk down from the carpark requires some effort if you have mobility issues or large/heavy luggage - well worth the effort once you reach the property. This may not be a matter much longer as we were informed that a funicular was being installed to assist with luggage. The bedding was super comfy! David was very responsive, friendly and helpful. His assistance went above and beyond. Would highly recommend & wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Other than the sand flies….. that we were well warned about…. Our stay was lovely. The brightest night stars ever!

Wow what an awesome place to stay! Beautiful house tastefully decorated with everything you could want. Loved all the special features of this place such as a great outdoor fire, so close to beautiful beach, spacious house, beautiful flooring, such comfortable beds, etc. Our family group loved our stay at The Cook's House!

One of my family’s favorite stays and extremely comfortable. Bjorn greeted us when we arrived and gave us a quick tour, including how to use the heated floors in the bathrooms! He is friendly and my family enjoyed chatting with him. The location is stunning, across the street from the bay and a walking/biking path. Everything in the unit is expertly furnished. The couches are very comfy and the kitchen is well equipped. The bathroom was spacious and had enough counter space for everyone’s toiletries. This was also the only place we stayed that had a dryer. There is another Airbnb upstairs who we saw park shortly after us but we didn’t hear anything. Another unit is next door on the first floor (well separated by a divider on the patio) but we didn’t see or hear anything during our stay. Overall great place and we were sad to leave after 1 night. The peninsula drive there is beautiful too.

Like stepping back in time. A beautiful place, unbelievably relaxing. I'd love to return another day.

Great place to stay. We had stayed at Brian’s place and traveled to Milford sound. Close to the town centre. Very close to the lake and great views to wake up to.

A fantastic place to stay, exactly as described, perfectly clean, very well setup and we loved the homemade bread! Nice quiet neighbour hood, safe on street parking right outside the unit. Recommend taking the Queenstown water taxi into town, has a stop a short walk/drive away, takes you right into town, no need to find expensive parking! We would definitely stay here again.

Celebrating my 60th birthday in Queenstown was fabulous, and part of its success was staying in this five bedroom house in such an amazing position. This being my first visit to ZQN, I was unaware how lucky I was to chance on this amazing home with wonderful & communicative hosts.

we had an excellent stay at the Bay House. everything is as pictured— beautiful furnishings, spacious, super clean, uncluttered. the location also cannot be beat with the lake just across the road and an easy walk into town. there was plenty of room for the three of us, the kitchen was well equipped and the washer/dryer came in handy after going on rainy/muddy hikes. it was rainy a few days during our visit to Queenstown but we did not mind spending time indoors at this home playing board games and reading. highly highly recommend!
