The Casas are the result of the restoration in 2022 of the building of the old Correio-mor, the first postal service in Portugal, created in 1520 by King D. Manuel.

The city council of Coimbra charges tourist tax. The amount of the tax is €1.00 per guest, per overnight stay, up to a maximum of 3 consecutive overnight stays per person, per stay.
