“We came to stay for a funeral and so we were just looking for a convenient place to stay which would allow us to attend various events. There were 4 of us, 2 60+ parents and 2 20+ adult offspring. This flat proved to be perfect for our family group. We found it to be spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean. It has a perfect location, within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, take outs and pubs. Most of the fittings are new and all are high quality. The central heating was more than adequate to provide us a comfortable space through some pretty cold weather. The owners are superb, very helpful and quick to respond to issues. I recommend this flat highly.”
Located in the Artists’ Town of Kirkcudbright, in south west Scotland, 67 St. Mary Street was built in 1878. It was then a large fashionable shop, at one time a drapery, and the upper floors contained elegant town houses for the shop owners and their family. The lower street level has since been converted to three retail outlets, one of which is a gallery for a local artist cooperative. The upper floors remain residential.
“Great accommodation and in an ideal location. The flat is very self contained having everything you would want and for our visit over New Year we were nice and warm. The location is central to Kirkcudbright and restaurants and pubs are within walking distance, which of an evening is a bonus. There are plenty of shops close by including three bakers and a local butcher that I can recommend the steak pie without reservation. Being so close to a working harbour is also nice. Iain also provided a recommendation for New Years Eve which included live music and a piper at midnight, thank you for that. We really enjoyed our stay and have recommended the flat to friends already!”
Truly luxurious holiday accommodation in a tastefully converted byre, set in a tranquil, rural location, but ideally located for all that the south- west has to offer. The cottage is beautifully presented with hard wood floors and finishes throughout, including a wood-burning stove in the spacious living room, sumptuous beds chosen for their quality and comfort, and fully equipped to make a superb holiday cottage. Enclosed courtyard garden with an outlook over the owners' adjoining garden.
“This cottage is a perfect place to stay. It is very homely and quiet. Me and my girlfriend loved the location. We love staying in the middle of nowhere with beautiful views. It is close enough to visit places though. I would highly recommend this to anyone. We would definitely go again. Alison and her husband were very warm and welcoming. The location was incredible. We visited Glen Trool and the views were amazing and the silence is certainly not something we get in Manchester so it was very much appreciated. Great beaches and the people were very friendly. Ten out of ten in every department and the best place we have stayed at by far!”
