This 1000sq ft cabin in the country with a very rural setting. It is quiet and relaxing, has a wood stove and is close to outdoor activities. Penitent Canyon, La Garita, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, 4wheeling, ATV trails, snowmobiling, skiing (Wolf Creek is 50 min drive). It has a canal running by in the summer. Self-serve breakfast with home-made yogurt, home-made granola, home-made bread for toast, local grown organic eggs, (hot coffee, chocolate, tea).
“My family and I had a wonderful stay at Jeanita’s cabin. The atmosphere is very cozy and the location is very secluded. Jeanita also goes a step above and leaves farm fresh eggs, yogurt, granola, and fresh-baked bread for you upon your arrival. If we are ever in the area again, we will be sure to use this location. You absolutely cannot beat the charm and value!”
Hi this is KimAnna & Mike. You will truly enjoy the uniqueness of our hand built cottage as well as our clear star studded sky. Our solar ranch is very peaceful and has been featured in Faerie Magazine, Tiny House, Mother Earth News, Drevo & Stavby (a chec Republic Architectural Magizine) and included in several Cordwood books and dvd's by Rob Roy, Richard Flatau and others. We are open year round. Please note that no smoking is allowed indoors, but smoking of all types is allowed outside ;-)
“This is a must see in person! We spent so much time just looking at how the cabin was made and admiring the unique and beautiful personal touches that give the place such a warm and comfortable feeling. I made French press coffee for the first time with the organic coffee they supplied and it turned out amazing (thanks to their handy instructions). The views are breathtaking! There are a few other structures on the property that I did not realize but that did not take away from the experience. The owners are very creative, so it left us wondering what awesome thing they were creating next. The animals very very friendly. My only regret is that it was so windy the only full day we had there that we didn’t use the chimenea or walk around the property as we had planned. We instead spent the day relaxing in the cabin and watching DVD on how cordwood cabins are made, movies they have available, and how the light plays though the colored glass. Would definitely book again!!”
Quaint, rustic cabin with a spectacular view. Nestled smack in the middle of a centennial cattle ranch and within walking distance of the Rio Grande River. The ranching operation is an all grass-fed organic beef supplier located next to hundreds of Forest Service roads which are just minutes away. Owners are close by and friendly! If you are looking to book around the holidays and the cabin is blocked please message me for more information.
“This cabin was remarkable. The view is beautiful at any hour and we felt at such peace there. We got sirloin steaks and eggs from the cattle ranch and farm- which was extra special. Such gorgeous views and it boasts every amenity! We so badly wished we could’ve stayed longer.”
