In the heart of the wild and romantic Székelyvarság (Vărșag) there is the Bigpine guesthouse, where in the mornings the squirrels, deers play and you can feel the pure energies of nature. A few hundred meters away you’ll find the amazing Csorgókő waterfall and a modern ski slope with restaurant. The interieur is furnished with items from the old house, others were collected from the surrounding villages. The property has two Szekler wooden houses, over 100 years old each, completely “reborn”. We offer one of them for guests who appreciate built heritage, nice panorama and organic garden. We tried to preserve folk heritage, adding a vintage touch and using colorful home accessories to offer a warm and homey atmosphere. The 5100 sqm courtyard with huge ancient trees make you will feel like being in a forest. You can rest in a hammock, listen to the bird’s songs and recharge your batteries.

In 24 km there is the Saint Anna lake that is the only crater lake in Romania. Or if you want only a short visit the village of Valea Zālanului. In 2008, the Prince of Wales bought the property of the former county, which was composed of several buildings, and is surrounded by hills full of flowers and forests. You can visit the King’s Retreat Valea Zālanului. In about 21 km there is a spa resort called Bálványos. Grand Hotel Balvanyos enjoys a tranquil location surrounded by forests.

Birdsong Cottage - peaceful country retreat

The house lies at the foot of the Carpathian mountains, close to the Natura 2000 protected area. It has a quiet, natural setting at the edge of a small Transylvanian village. It is very comfortable for one or two adults, business travellers, and families (with young kids). For four to five adults it might be too cramped though. Around it is a big shared garden with a fruit-orchard and a small creek.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Close to the Zetea barrage (3km) surrounded by forests and hills and crossed by Sikaszo brook. Don't worry about the road we are close to the main road also. The hot tube is an extra service and must be paied separate.
