The perfect base for hiking, cycling, visiting the Blasket, viewing stars at night, listening to the sound of the sea, with peaceful beaches and beautiful walks nearby. We are on the wild Atlantic Way, at the tip of the Dingle Peninsula, the halfway point of the Slea Head Drive. We are a 20min drive west of Dingle town. A car is essential!
“We couldn’t more highly recommend this Airbnb. The location, cleanliness, value, and hospitality of the host are all A+. The only down side about staying here is that all other places won’t seem as nice in comparison! If you’re looking to experience Ireland in all its splendor, this is the place to stay. Theresa really pays attention to the details of her Airbnb—and it makes staying there a joy. Do yourself a favor and book yourself this location, you won’t regret it! A traditional stone cottage built in the early 1700's. Located in Dunquin on the Dingle Way walking route and overlooking the Blasket islands.
“We loved this cozy stone cottage in quiet Dunquin, attached to the host's home but totally separate. We were overjoyed to discover that from the cottage you can walk up the hill to windswept trails and views across the islands and sea, and down the lane it’s a short walk to the amazing Blasket Island Heritage Center and past it to a nice rocky cove beach and a bluff trail along the edge of the sheep pastures. The hosts laid out a simple fresh breakfast for us every morning and were kind and informative. And although it feels like you are at the end of the world, this cottage is a surprisingly short distance from the town of Dingle, one of our favorite little towns in Ireland.”
Beautifully restored old grainstore building, newly refurbished with all modern furnishings. Ideal for romantic getaways, hiking/cycling tours, eco tours and sightseeing on the Dingle Peninsula. Close to beaches, golf course, restaurants and shop in Ballyferriter and 20min drive to Dingle Town. Taxis available for trips to Dingle.
“The Tigín is a perfect hideaway for a lone traveller or a couple. Nestled away on the western end of the Dingle peninsula, it was a wonderful spot from which to explore the area. It was a great place to go to relax. It's a great restoration with some thoughtful touches; I came in to find fresh brown bread on the counter and eggs in the fridge. I spent evenings with the stove blazing while the Irish winter weather raged outside. Ann was very responsive to messages and queries. Accessing the property and leaving was all very straightforward. Overall the experience was very conducive to shaking off day to day stresses. I hope to be back in future.”
