Lovely place to stay at & the location was great to explore Knysna.

Watching the sunset from the stoep was magical. We did the Addo/Scotia tour which was an amazing day out.

5 Stars – A Slice of Paradise in Knysna! We had the most incredible stay at this beautiful home in Knysna. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed — the hosts greeted us warmly and had thoughtfully left snacks, a bottle of wine, and even a delicious cake for us to enjoy. Such a special touch that set the tone for the rest of our stay. The house itself is stunning — spotless, beautifully decorated, and perfectly equipped with everything we needed. The peaceful location made it the perfect place to unwind. We loved spending time on the patio, soaking in the scenery, and enjoying relaxed evenings by the fire. The location is ideal too — just a short drive from town, yet far enough to feel like a private retreat. This place truly felt like a home away from home, and we can’t wait to return. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

We had the pleasure of going back to St Francis and just had the best time. From the moment we arrived Tanya made us feel right at home. The location worked so well for us with youngsters going to Billies and we had easy access to the canals. We look forward to coming back :)

We had a great time staying at this place. It was clean, spacious and close to all vicinities. It was in a very safe and secure complex that we were able to take our newborn for walks. It included everything we needed and a few extras that we won’t normally get - e.g. air fryer, Nespresso machine, including pods, le creuset utensils. Easy check in and check out.

Knysna is such a lovely place, with Thesen’s Island being my favourite area. Location is great, and is extremely safe as it is a gated community. The house is beautifully kept, spacious, and extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The furniture, décor and general quality of the house is great (especially the lovely main bed!). Faith is such a lovely lady - full of energy and charm. She is incredibly helpful, responsive, and is such a delight. She makes you feel right at home from the moment you arrive, and gives an amazing tour of the house (and some great recommendations of places to go on the island, as well as in the surrounding areas). It was such an amazing stay, would 100% recommend, and would definitely book again!

This was an amazing spot. Beautiful setting, close to the action and great restaurants on Thesen Island, but also far enough for a peaceful retreat. My wife and our two young daughters (4 and 6 yr old) loved the comfy and well stocked place. Lots of walks on the Island and plenty to do around the area (animal farms, vineyards, nature walks, etc). We would definitely recommend this spot and we’ll be back to Liddi’s place in the future. Wow!!

We have spent many holidays on Thesen Islands over the years, renting multiple homes on multiple islands. We have now found the perfect home for us. What you arrive to is so much better than any description or picture and exceeded all of our expectations without exception. It's a stunning North facing location with a wonderful view up the main canal. The home is very well appointed and most notably, for us and for my wife, spotlessley clean. Also very notably we were supplied with the small things that make a big difference and give you a sense of generosity by the hosts; toilet paper, dishwasher tabs, sponges, washing powder, hand soaps etc (you'll be shocked how many home stays don't supply the small things). We are so appreciative to Ilsebe for sharing her lovely home with us. 2026 is already booked. Can't wait! The Farrells

We had a wonderful stay for our honeymoon! The place was exactly as described—peaceful, relaxing, and just what we needed. The host was welcoming and responsive, making the experience even smoother. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

We were very impressed by the attention to detail. We arrived late, but Olwen has ensured that we had the basics so that we could settle in, including a bottle of wine! The balcony had two comfortable loungers, table and chairs that afforded us a beautiful view of the canals, beautiful views especially in the early morning and the evenings. The bedding and towels were of a good quality. The kitchen had everything we needed. Internet was good enough to allow “working from home” through many teams meetings. Easy walk to many restaurants. Safe and secure underground parking. The apartment met all our expectations.

We stayed in one of Tine’s luxury glamping caravans as the room on AirBnB got double booked. Tine solved the matter very professionally and upon arrival she was very friendly and helpful. Thanks for our short but beautiful stay!

Brilliant value for money! Beautiful apartment with a central location and everything you need for a short or a longer stay. Carla's communication was excellent, and self-checkin was easy with clear instructions. We only stayed one night which was a shame becauce Carla's place would be the perfect base from which to explore Knysna and surroundings. Will definitely stay here again on my next visit

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! From the moment we arrived, it was clear Mevlynne had thought of every little detail—from extra blankets and toiletries and fully stocked kitchen supplies. The property itself is incredibly peaceful, with beautifully maintained grounds and spotless amenities throughout. Whenever we had a question, he was always available and responded almost instantly, which made everything so easy. The only thing to note is that there’s no Wi-Fi on-site, so you’ll need to purchase mobile data if you want to stream TV. That said, we found it actually perfect—who wants to binge Netflix on holiday anyway? We spent our time exploring, relaxing, and truly disconnecting. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a serene, well‑appointed getaway!

It was the perfect relaxing holiday setting in beautiful nature surroundings. We absolutely will visit this holiday home again. Craig and Theoline are friendly and helpfull hosts. I will recommend their place to anyone.

What a fantastic find. The best place we discovered on our trip. Very comfortable accommodation and spacious with perfect quick access to Addo elephant park. Highly recommend the Happy Jackal and great value for money

Beautiful well decorated cottage. Stunning views from the veranda and great open plan kitchen which is well thought out with everything you need. Bedrooms a good size with comfortable beds. Added bonus is the lovely Sisipho. Her smiling friendly face a treat. Lots of fabulous fresh crayfish, oysters and muscles offered by the locals daily. Beautiful beach a 5 min walk. Although quite a hike back up to the cottage. Plenty to do. Tasmin and Mike fantastic hosts. Highly recommended

Our first visit to the Transkei.. what an amazing experience! We loved every minute of it.. The cottage is comfortable, has everything you may need, and the most amazing view of the beach. Leading up to our stay Patricia was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. During our stay Corina was very helpful and pleasant. Highly recommend Davisons Cottage for your next visit to the beautiful Transkei! Hope to be visiting myself again in the not too distant future..

Nico went out of his way to make sure we had a comfortable stay. We had a wonderful time and will surely go back there whenever we're in Knysna :)

This bungalow transported us to our childhood holidays. As a family with 2 kids, we were so comfy and just loved this spot. Comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms. Outdoor taps to wash off all the sand. Cute kitchen with everything you need, and a cozy lounge for card games. Lovely deck with bright red chairs that we assume resemble the colour of the Loerie's wings, that fly past everyday. Quick and easy to walk to the beach and the kids loved riding their bikes safely to the shop for ice creams. Endless activities, walking, biking, fishing, hiking, swimming, paddling. Honestly PARADISE on earth. The lagoon is beautiful but we loved the walk over to the sea against that huge mountain where the otter trail ends. The turquoise blue ocean was incredible. We cannot wait to come back to our new favourite place!

We love staying at Paula's place, it is a divine cottage complete with everything one needs. Set in a beautiful garden, which our border collies just love. We thoroughly enjoy our holidays at Paula's place and will definitely be back again.
