Barn holiday rentals in Forest of Dean

I had a beautiful time at the Stables! It’s a getaway from the world at a working farm. I love animals, so I asked to meet some of them, and Yvonne took me to see (and pet!) the milking cows, and explained the entire process to me! The house had traditional charm but was has been updated everywhere that it counts. They have lists of local recommendations but I was happy to get groceries and use the excellent kitchen at the property. I did not have a car and was warned about difficulty getting around but as I was only interested in nature and peace and quiet, getting to and from on public transport was easy enough. Finally, Yvonne was always prompt responding to me and was very friendly and welcoming! I’d love to come back!

Great place has everything you need and was great for families with nice big garden and swings for children to run around in. Jan was a great host and so lovely and warm! Lots of lovely things to do around the area too!

we had a great stay. the area is very peaceful, but within easy distance of main roads. pubs and local walks. lots to do locally and slightly further afield. the house was exactly as pictured, and very clean. the kitchen had everything we needed, including plastic plates for little ones. hosts were easy to contact but respectful of privacy. we'd definitely book again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Wiltshire. The house was beautiful and well kept and the games barn a great addition. The living room and kitchen were spacious, the house was clean, comfortable and warm. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, lovely views, we enjoyed exploring and had things to do every day with the children. Lots of pubs in the surrounding villages for options to eat as well as supermarkets nearby. Hermione and her family were lovely hosts, friendly checked in on us at the start, made recommendations of where to go, we had a great time! Thanks Hermione!

Had a lovely stay, great location to enjoy the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. A warming welcome to a roaring wood burner after a long walk went down a treat!

What a beautiful home and location! Perfect for a weekend getaway with the family. Host and owners on site was excellent, giving local recommendations and freedom to explore the amazing surroundings. House was very spacious, clean and had everything we needed.

Beautiful place in the most beautiful surroundings! Very private with gorgeous views right over open fields and secluded. The property had everything you needed and was also well equipped for our stay with our 1 year old! Rosie was an excellent host and very helpful! Would 100% stay here again!

We loved our stay at Hannah's place. Lovely home, perfect for our family. The house is well set up with everything you'd need and really clean and tidy. Lots of things for our 2 year old daughter to do and play with and really safe for her too, stair gates, enclosed private yard etc. Hannah was very helpful with directions and providing things we asked for like a high chair and cot. The location is really peaceful and quiet and was perfectly situated to get to loads of great walks and other activities in the Beacons and surrounding areas. We would recommend staying here if you are planning a trip to the region.

Great place to stay, with much to see and do in and around. We came to give our grandson a Castle experience, and covered five in two days plus a river trip...We were blessed with fabulous weather and He had a blast! The Stone Barn is set in a beautiful location and the place itself is amazing. We stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding in the local area and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. The barn is exactly as described and fitted out well with everything you would need. Nicky and Mark were great hosts, providing detailed check in and parking information as well as initial essential items in the barn. We are already looking for our next excuse to stay here again.

Great little getaway home. The place was lovely and fitted what we needed perfectly. The host was quick at responding to any questions we had and gave us lots of goodies on arrival. Would highly recommend this place.

Stayed for two nights and managed to visit Bath and Bristol so well placed for areas of interest. Immaculate and spotlessly clean. Lovely quite quirky place to stay with nice touches as a welcome. Had everything you’d need for a really relaxed stay. And nice to have the outside space too. Highly recommend this place for a couples weekend away.

A beautifully converted barn tastefully decorated, provided perfect accommodation for our party of 3 adults and 2 children (ages 2 and 5). The place was immaculate throughout and check in/check out was seamless. Thanks Gillian and Aaron.

We loved our stay at Kim's place - the Barn was AMAZING. We hope to come back - it was one of the highlights of our trip. The home was clean, comfortable, and classy! We had a brilliant few days away! If you are looking for tranquillity, peace and quiet in an idyllic setting, you will not be disappointed. The Barn overlooked the pond, so we spent some time bird watching as we sat out on the decking during breakfast and in the evening. We stayed in The Barn, there is also The Leat next door, which we would consider, if you wanted to take additional family members. The property had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. This was the perfect location for sightseeing the surrounding area. Natalie, the host, ensured that our stay at The Barn went smoothly before and on arrival with information regarding check-in and check-out. This was a holiday break for my elderly mother-in-law, myself & my wife. We needed everything on one level with separate bedrooms/bathrooms/showers, this property met those needs. Thank you Natalie for an amazing time at this stunning property and for looking after us.

Carol’s place is very comfortable and luxurious - just as described in the listing. It’s a perfect location within walking distance of all the amenities in the lovely village of Marshfield and close to Bath and Bristol. Highly recommended.

Beautifully converted barn makes a wonderful space - in reality, it is even more picturesque than on the photos. The barn is a great base to visit Bath, Bristol, Stonehenge from, but also to explore immediate surroundings. Maggie is truly a superhost, having provided everything needed, advised on local walks, shops, eateries and made us all (including the dog) feel very welcome

We had the most wonderful time at The Old House Barn. The quaint barn is styled to perfection, creating a cosy and serene atmosphere that was ideal for relaxing in the breathtaking beautiful countryside. The modern amenities made our stay incredibly comfortable allowing us to cook meals after a day of visiting nearby villages. We especially enjoyed the fireplace and the delicious treat that greeted us on arrival. We couldn’t have dreamed up a more perfect stay. Very easy to find. Long bumpy farm track but vehicles didn't have any issues. The barn was lovely, private and peaceful with enclosed gardens and hot tub. Very spacious inside with all amenities you would need. The bath was the biggest bath I've ever seen ! Shower and toilet down stairs in a huge utility. Met Lynsey who was superfriendly and very helpful. Booked in at another one of their properties on same site in a few weeks. Lots of places to walk in beautiful surroundings .

What a gem of a find. Like others have said, a lot bigger than we expected. Beautiful and warm with a wood burner to make it cosy in the evenings but to be quite honest even though it was cold outside ( we even had snow showers) the accommodation is warm enough if you didn’t want to light the woodburner. Bed very comfy with the smell of lovely fresh bed linen. Stella was at hand with a small query that we had . I would highly recommend this place to stay , tucked away with walks for the dogs just outside the door . My first words when we unlocked the door and walked in were; “ oh this is lovely, we always choose nice places “. Thankyou Stella

Beautiful barn with plenty of space for our party of 10. Clean and comfortable. Peaceful location with a large field to exercise the dog and play games. Gym, table tennis and football table also. Sue was very welcoming and gave us recommendations for local places to eat. Bradford upon Avon only a few minutes drive away and lovely town to visit. We had a lovely weekend stay.
