There is a car road all the way up to the cabin throughout the year, and good parking. This is a perfect starting point for trips in Jotunheimen and the surrounding mountain areas. In winter, there is a cross country trail just behind the cabin, and you can go on an alpine ski just outside the cabin door and run to the ski resort. The cabin is beautifully located also for hunting, fishing and total relaxation.

Gamlestugu is a charming 19th-century timber house measuring approximately 50 sqm. It is located on the farm Søre Gjeilo in Skjåk municipality, 7 km from Lom. About 10 km from Bismo. Gamlestugu comprises a living room/kitchen, two bedrooms, a bathroom and a small hallway. One bedroom has a double bed and one with bunk beds, 4 beds in total. There is Wi-Fi and TV.
