Historically Gilleleje is an old fishing village and it was here that many Jews were transported to Sweden during World War II. Gilleleje Church was a waiting place for Jews until they could be transported. In 1943, 75 Jews were caught by the Gestapo on the church ceiling after a snitch had informed the Germans. Everywhere there are monuments of historical events. Every year there are various festivals in Gilleleje - "Hill" Festival, Harbour Festival, Jazz at the port and The Herring Day. Huset er totalrenoveret i år og fremstår meget indbydende med loft til kip og udgang til stor syd-vestvendt træterrasse. Huset rummer tillige 3 gode soveværelser og fuldstændig nyt badeværelse.

Vi er et par uden hjemmeboende børn. Vi har en sød hund, som måske vil komme og hilse på udendørs, hvis I griller i haven. Hunden kommer ikke i lejligheden. Der er fryser God til langtidsophold

Soveværelset har adgang til et badeværelse med stor bruseniche. Køkken rummer faciliteter til at lave egne måltider, samt udendørs grill. Der er gode parkeringsforhold, tæt på Helsingør centrum, indkøb, kultur, Museet for Søfart, Kronborg, skov og gode strande, muligheder for tennis og golf.
