Bungalow on productive organic permaculture vegetable and fruit mini-farm bordered by both a river and a creek in a beautiful, quiet location with scenic Turpins Falls and The Cascades nearby, between the cafe-filled towns of Kyneton and Castlemaine.
“Rob and Gunilla's little farm is a great example of what can be done in a tiny area - so many of us could learn a few of the skills that Rob has learned the hard way, and we could all have access to tasty fresh food right outside the back door (or in the case of this little bungalow, the front door!) We found the space to work really well. Initially we thought it strange to have a fireplace but no comfy chairs, but you just bring the quite comfortable chairs in from the dining table. The heaters work well, and its not cold at night, even though we had the window open. Rob is a great host and we loved to spend time with the animals especially the goats!”
As seen on ABC TV series, "Australian Restoration" (Gervasoni site) this recently restored old stone blacksmiths building is now a comfortable villa comprising bedroom with sitting room, bathroom and private courtyard. Lovely couples retreat and pet friendly.
“Marnie and her husband have done a great job of renovating the blacksmiths cottage and it has everything you need for a short stay. The bed was so comfortable; a great place to sleep as well as read a book while taking in the view. There is a lovely bath to soak in, and a comfy couch to watch a movie. While they are still renovating the main house it is not a problem and definitely part of the charm.”
“The Studio Behind the House With The Yellow Door” is a well-established Airbnb in Castlemaine. It is a complete self-contained guest house; open plan lounge, kitchenette, separate bedroom, bathroom/toilet with shower. Stylishly designed and decorated. Light and airy, yet very private. Your new hosts are Randall and Helen, and we hope to maintain and improve on its reputation. Perfect for Goldfields holidays, romantic getaways, business retreats, creative intensives or prospecting.
“Randall & Helen’s place is extremely cosy and offers a nice location for walking into town to explore all of what Castlemaine has to offer. They are very friendly hosts and we especially liked the local coffee provided and the bed was super comfy too!”
