  • North Cornwall Coast and History Walk
I will guide you on a gorgeous circular route in Morwenstow taking us out to the coastpath and to some of the Southwest's most remote, wild and spectacular terrain, which has a rich and fascinating history. This route is short, but is designed to to take you to as many beautiful and interesting places as possible. We will start and end the tour at a historic 13th Century Inn which makes a great place to grab a bite or a drink afterwards. Along the way we will take in the incredible views, stop at some amazing local spots and learn about the rich and wild history of an area best known for shipwrecks, smuggling and eccentric poets. We will visit the beautifully situated Morwenstow church, go out to the towering cliffs with magnificent views along the coast, to a tiny shipwreck-wood shelter built into the cliff face in the 1800's, and return via a peaceful woodland, which feels a world away from the wild coastline. This route is for people on limited time, families with smaller children, or those wanting a short walk. Please note the return via the woodland valley requires a descent and ascent on a steep trail with steps, but this can be avoided by returning on a flat lane, making the entire route very easy. If you would like a longer walk, see www.airbnb.co.uk/experiences/275383 Distances: 1.5 miles without woodland valley 1.9 with woodland valley +0.4 mil Other things to note The route is easy and flat walking (with option for two steep sections) but guests should have a reasonable level of fitness to walk up to 2 miles. Unfortunately the meeting point is near impossible to reach without a car, so please don't book this hike unless you have your own transport.

  • Explore North Cornwall on Electric Bikes
Please see the section 'guest requirements' below to see if this experience is for you. I will guide you on a cycle ride around the beautiful coastal surroundings of Morwenstow, N. Cornwall, taking us to some of the South west's most remote, wild and spectacular places - all linked together on sleepy country lanes with very little traffic. This area is extremely beautiful but can be hilly, and this is where the electric bikes come into their own. With an electric motor assisting while you pedal, we will be able to explore the area in comfort, giving you more energy to take in the surroundings! At the meeting point I will go through what we will be doing and get you sorted with an electric bike and helmet. You'll have plenty of time to get familiar with the bike and give it a test run, and when you are comfortable with everything we will begin our adventure. Our route will last 2.5-3 hours and will take us on some lovely roads out to the cliffs, with a tea rooms (famed for it's cream teas!) and local pub along the way if you fancy a refreshment. To get access to some of the most interesting places (for example a shipwreck-wood cabin built into the cliff face in the 1800's) we will park the bikes and go on foot for 15 minutes, so please bring shoes you are comfortable walking in too. www.goodmorningcaptain.co.uk/electric-bikes for more information

  • Trail Running in wild North Cornwall
I will take you on a 10km (or any distance on request!) trail run in Morwenstow, the wild, rocky, forgotten land which lies at the extreme Northern end of Cornwall. The run will include sections of the South West coast path and take you along wild clifftops, down hidden secluded valleys and down on to isolated coves and beaches only accessible by foot. The entire route is off road and is composed of coast path, public footpath trails and hidden footpaths that only the locals known and which aren't on any map. Make no mistake about it - this is challenging terrain and is often steep in places but the views from the top are breathtaking and even the often windy and rainy weather conditions add to the exhilaration. This experience is designed for people with trail running experience but all abilities can be catered for as the route can be adapted to suit your needs. This tour is 10km but can be suited to your needs on request, from short 5km runs, to all day adventures! Also the start time is not fixed, so if you prefer a different time then just let me know. See www.goodmorningcaptain.co.uk/trail-running for further information Other things to note: This is a challenging area to run in but the 10km route can be changed to suit your ability level. The start time can also be changed upon request to a time that suits you.
