Away from the mainroads, living above the trees in a nicely built wooden house on top of Egmont hill with a stunning view overlooking Benji Bay, enjoying the unbelivable sunsets of the carribean and having all the basic comfort around. 10 - 15 min drive from/to the Airport, 10 min drive to downtown St. Georges, a couple of min to all the Marinas around. Can only reached by car, taxi or on your own legs. If you like our place but can´t find available days, check out our second apt Bennys´s Nest 2
“Perfect stay... incredible view and nice accommodation. Perfect location as there is 3 nights at least with a possible local night out in the area, walking or water taxi. If not hiring a car, you need to be prepared to walk up and down a little. We liked it as it kept us in shape ;-) for a first time it is good without. Next time we will hire a car as we will definetly go back. Peter ans Doris are adorable... there for anything you need. Paradise as you can think of... even going down you have a shared private deck to watch sunset and swim. One of our coup de Cœur.”
It's my dream come true - an old, ruined building transformed into a stylish, comfortable and inviting home. I love its charm and character; the spacious, airy rooms and wooden floors, and the glimpse of the past, lingering in the rough, stone walls.
“Little Cocoa is a very special and beautiful place! We absolutely LOVED it! So comfortable and relaxing. We woke up to orange winged parrots in the trees off our veranda and other birds including many hummingbirds on all the beautiful trees in the garden. A very peaceful place to come back to after exploring the island. Their dogs Lola and Mojo greeted us when we came home and stayed with us to keep us company which was a delight! They are very sweet dogs, as is Mr Jolly and their donkey, Amiga. Shelly and Phillip were great hosts. Super communication and very friendly and helpful. Cottage was so clean. Furniture and bed comfortable. Spices and lots of cooking utensils and a charcoal grill which we used to make lobster and tuna fresh from local fishermen-mmm!! It was very safe and quiet here. A short walk down the hill we saw lots of different birds. I would recommend renting a car, we used Gabriel's Rental which Shelley arranged for us. They were friendly, helpful and professional. Explore all of this lovely island! Don't worry if you get lost, the locals are so willing to help and give directions and even lead you directly to what you are looking for! We took 3 tours through Tropical Adventures and would highly recommend them. The owner, Vaughan Francis is an avid birder and took us on a 12 hour tour birding at a variety of places, it was exceptional. The other guide, Mikey, is so knowledgeable and fun to be with. All their tours are private, which make it special. We took Grenada in a nutmeg shell tour so saw the entire island, including River Antonie Rum Distillery (so interesting!!), the Nutmeg Processing Plant (very good!), and chocolate factory. Had local cuisine for lunch and enjoyed great views driving. The Shoreline Trail hike in Grand Etang is very pretty. The grocery stores have pretty much everything you will need. We liked to buy from the 3 fellows that fished and speared that are by the entrance of Laura's Restaurant and Marina, very near by. Grenville Fish Market was good too. We snorkeled Flamingo Bay-go far left by rocks and you will see lots of coral and huge fans! We drove down to Dragons Bay and Moses had a boat that took us to snorkel the underwater sculpture park ($30 USD per person for about an hour). He guided us so we saw all the sculptures. Toady at the bar made a delicious drink with grapefruit juice and angostura bitters. There are washrooms there too. Be sure and drive north to Leapers Hill - the view is extraordinary! As it is at Levere Beach and Bathway Beach. All in all, Grenada is a spectacular island and Little Cocoa is the place to stay!”
Two bedroom cottage set on the edge of an organic cocoa estate overlooking the Caribbean sea which is just two minutes walk away.
“We stayed in Little House for 7 days in January 2020. It was exactly as described. Lylette and Kim, as well as Gabri, were very friendly and helpful. They also always asked us if everything was okay and if we needed something. Even before the check-in they were very accommodating and organized a very nice and inexpensive taxi driver for us. We would have booked him for departure too; but since he couldn't, Kim kindly jumped in. What Lylette and Kim have achieved deserves our greatest respect and admiration. The chocolate tasted very good, especially the one with coconut. We enjoyed the "jungle" (unfortunately also the sand flies ;-)) and were able to observe some birds, including hummingbirds. Almost forgotten: the two dogs Rover and Ratty. I am usually afraid of dogs. But these were the favorite dogs that we have met so far.”
