Shag Point Retreat offers private gardens, a unique base for exploring and also a quiet respite “off the beaten track”. Close by a wide sweeping sandy bay. Or head to the Conservation reserve, a 10 minute walk - coastal views, seals and bird life abounds.

Private, delightful garden & decks facing the sun. Outdoor seating provided. Your well behaved, house trained dog is welcome to stay. Private with lots of room to move, our place has a relaxing beach house feel. Surrounded by large lawns and native trees, it has ultimate privacy. We have a large veranda to enjoy the sunshine and a BBQ. It’s only a 5 minute walk from Hampden Beach, shops, cafes and local tavern. Just a 5 minutes drive to the Moeraki Boulders or a 20 minute walk along the beach. We are only a 25 minute drive south of Oamaru and 50 minutes north of Dunedin.

Buckley’s Retreat
