Afterwards: Finnish sauna, garden, starry sky. Rent bikes and canoes, enjoy the Elbe, and switch off in the UNESCO biosphere reserve. Halfway between Hamburg and Berlin. The house is located in the middle of the "Flusslandschaft Elbe" biosphere reserve, on the edge of a small village, just a stone's throw from the river. Walks, bike rides, bird watching, picnics on the banks of the Elbe, a lake for swimming or a spa with a sauna area (8 km away). Large "lovingly overgrown" garden, completely fenced, with swimming pond, terrace, fire basket, deckchairs, etc. You will live in a spacious 140 m² property with a conservatory, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms + a guest toilet, and a fully equipped kitchen.

In the middle of the forest, on a clearing, 3 km from the beautiful town of Gartow, lies our special retreat. If you are looking for peace and quiet in nature and value simplicity and goodness, this is the place. The old half-timbered building, a former stable, was renovated with high quality and sustainably with natural materials. Clay plaster on the walls and the wood-burning stove guarantee an excellent indoor climate, and the walk to the wood-fired sauna promises absolute relaxation!

Ahorn Cottage - Vacation in the "Herbsthausen" sawmill

Our four studio apartments – Ahorn, Linde, Kastanie and Birke – combine the historic charm of Herbsthausen with a sense of lightness. All apartments are absolutely different and modernised by us. Ahron Cottage can accommodate two people on DB tickets. The apartments are part of "Herbsthausen", an ambitious cultural project in beautiful Gartow. We are renovating a historic sawmill into a future location for art, industrial culture, living, working, international exchange and recreation.

Kulturhaus Wahrenberg

Unfortunately, our farm is not suitable for excessive parties. Our house was built around 1850. The residential house and barn of the listed three-sided farmstead are built with an oak timber frame. There are 10 wedding linden trees around the house. In November, when the lime trees have been pruned back, the house can be seen in all its splendour. From May onwards, it then slowly disappears behind the shade-providing foliage, and so remains wonderfully cool throughout the summer...
