“Wow! If you love the feeling of being in the rainforest and expansive ocean views, but like the convenience of being able to walk to the heart of a charming little town, the Blue Cottage is your spot. It is a joy to arrive there and be welcomed by the homey atmosphere and comfortable bed -- but the screened in porch! The views! I can't say enough about it. Of course it has a lot of rain and reflects that, but it has such charm and privacy. Can't recommend it enough. The only issue is that the kitchen is somewhat limited (hot plates and microwave but full sized fridge and coffee/tea makers) but adequate for most purposes. And there is so much room, especially for the price. A real find.”

“Patricia's place was more than we could ever ask for. She had everything you could need and more. The house is beautiful, the views are incredible, and the outdoor kitty is the sweetest cat ever. We truly will miss that little girl! The house is well equipped with all the necessities needed such as towels, a washer and dryer, blow dryer, hand towels, soap, body wash, first aid kit, ice machine and filtered water! There was all kinds of plates and bowls, seasoning, a bunch of different pots and pans, extra blankets cause it sure can get cold up there in the off season! The fans were plenty to keep it cool when needed and theres an additional plug in fan that helps block out the noise of the birds if needed. (My partner is a very light sleeper). The only downside is having to drive an hour to hilo or kona which we already knew prior to coming so no big deal for us. We would actually prefer the drive just to stay at her place. It was the best airbnb we've stayed at and 100% would stay again if we have the opportunity. There was also boogie boards that we got some use out of, and a cooler which we didnt need but great to know is there for future stays. It was a very quiet area which I appreciate also very private which was another huge plus. The bed was comfortable and the tub is amazing! The shower is big enough for two so that was a plus as well. The pool cover is hard to remove when the rain water collects on it but we were able to swoosh it out and the pool was super fun! This house felt like home immediately and we will think about our experience and compare it (I'm sure) every time we stay somewhere after this. Thank you so much for such a lovely stay! It was truly magical.”
We live in a rain forest and occasionally will come across the mysterious pueo (owl), this peaceful place is called, Ka Hale Pueo (The House of the Owl). On a clear night you can light up the fire pit and stargaze! Inside you will find a cozy and modern country decor with most of the necessities you need. E komo mai! (Welcome!)
“What a special place. What a wonderful hostess. A quiet retreat off the beaten path with some spectacular hiking nearby. Allison has thought of everything. The kitchen is the best equip I have experienced at a rental. She is also quick with thoughtful extras like blankets for a cold night, fresh fruit and eggs from the property. The amenities are just as advertised. The place is clean and spacious. The lanai is a lovely spot for breakfast, coffee, cocktails or yoga. The fire pit is perfect for enjoying the stars, a quiet moment or time with your companions. Allison, her family and this special find is filled with Aloha Spirit. I can’t recommend it enough.”
