“Nick and Daria's were very welcoming. They have a stylish space with comfy mattress and I was able to work quietly at the kitchen table. The place is an easy cycle from Newbury mostly on cycle routes and the quiet Speen Lane.”
This charming cottage is situated in the heart of Kintbury. There are plenty of lovely walks nearby and the Kennet & Avon canal is within easy reach for fishing and cycling. The village has 3 pubs, a good corner store and a part-time bakery just a minute's walk away. The property is also only a short distance from the station for trains to Newbury/Hungerford (5 minutes), Reading (35 minutes) or London (50 minutes).
“Julian and Dorothea’s place was exactly what I needed. Don’t let the sofa bed put you off it really is very comfy, my mum even came and stayed 2 nights and it was no problem sharing it. The projector is great and the desktop computer came in really handy too to get some work done. Julian and Dorothea kept to themselves but made me aware that they were there if I needed anything which was perfect. The self check in was very straight forward too. I would definitely stay again.”
This compact homely end-terrace cottage is ideally located on the beautiful open grazing of Hungerford Common yet is a ten minute walk to the high street and five to the train station (direct to London Paddington in an hour) and is 3 miles from the M4. It has an enclosed front garden and small yard. The cottage is used at various times by the family including small children giving it a cozy lived-in feel and while it is warm, inviting and fully functioning, some parts are old and well-used.
“Lovely long weekend in Hungerford. The cottage is very conveniently located; the train station and different stores and restaurants are all within 10-15 minutes walking distance. Being right next to the Hungerford Common also means that you can go out the door and start walking in the countryside. It also means you’re in a quiet area. The cottage was clean and had everything I was expecting. The host was very communicative and helpful. She responded quickly to any questions I had and gave good directions for finding the cottage. It’s a cozy and warm place - perfect for a quiet evenings of reading on the couch. I’d very happily stay there again.”
