Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Kaikoura Flat

Warrick's place was a true godsend, for what we needed, as a couple, escaping Christchurch, for a quiet 5 days away. Autumn was a great time to stay, with the 2 storey home being warmed quickly during the day by the sun, and cooling down quickly at night. It was helpful, finding out that there was a studio apartment below the house, that could be occupied, during your stay, thus necessitating that we pay extra for that, to be unoccupied.....obviously, unless you enjoy, sharing... The request to take our rubbish with us, when we pay a cleaning fee, was, well...but, the rubbish receivers were just down the road....We shall certainly want to return. Please, clean the windows.

Great spot to stop and explore or relax, comfy bed and cosy lounge.. everything you need is there. we had the wood burner roaring the first night with a bottle of red.. it warmed the house. Great lemon tree and enjoyed a few walnuts from the tree in the yard. Lots of valleys, rivers and beaches nearby to explore. It was also great to be able to bring our small dog with us on holiday … she enjoyed all the back yard and country smells and the walk along the Clarence river bank to the railway bridge before we left. Totally recommend Robyn’s for a stop off.

The place and the location were absolutely stunning and we loved tending to and then sitting in the hot tub at sunset.

We stumbled on Brian's log cabin by accident after a change in our travel arrangements and ended up staying for four blissful nights. Brian was an amazing host throughout and responsive to our needs...he even helped change a flat tire discovered on the morning we were due to drive to Christchurch Airport. The log cabin is a unique structure with a mezzanine floor (for sleeping) surrounded on all sides by native beech forest. Lots of bellbirds, silvereyes and fantails...and a South Island robin couple who hung around. Mrs Robin came inside to say Hi. We love the feel of natural wood, the remoteness, the amazing lighting, the innovate water heating and the range of herbs and spices. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped. Staying here was also a wonderful introduction to the Hurunui area.

A beautiful log cabin with cosy fireplace and fully functioning kitchen. The birdsong in the morning is lovely and a great place to spot black robins, piwakawaka and yellow eye birds.

Such a stunning stay, Susie’s place was warm and cosy with an elevated feel. The special touches were appreciated and were the best we’ve ever received at an Airbnb. Thanks Susie!

Liz’s place was immaculate, roomy and private, totally separated from her own house next door. Warm as toast when we arrived as Liz had put the heating on in advance of our arrival. Very convenient location right next to SH1, traffic noise at night was minimal and we enjoyed a view of the Milky Way after it got dark. Worth mentioning that Liz requests guests not to cook fish or seafood in the space, so bear that in mind when shopping for supplies. Also Liz left us eggs from her own chooks, which we didn’t use in the end as we had other food with us 😅 🐓 🍳 A fab place to stay.

A fantastic stay at this beautiful property by the beach in Kaikoura. We had rain throughout our stay, so couldn’t enjoy the lovely outside table and grill, but we did enjoy the fireplace and lovely kitchen. Beds were comfy too. Great stay.

The house itself was clean, comfortable, spacious and stylish. Its location was breathtakingly beautiful. The huge deck and the garden at the back looked up to snow capped mountains. We all loved it. Definitely the best place we’ve stayed on our trip around NZ. The hosts were really responsive.
