Kangaroo Island Quiet Beachfront location

CharlieRating, 5 stars28 months ago
We had 6 days here on Kangaroo Island and it was a great base. The house itself is well setup and has a great covered balcony with dining table and decent Weber Q BBQ. It is convenient to Kingscote which has a well stoked Drakes (supermarket) but nicely out of town so it is quiet and peaceful and had amazing night sky views when there was no cloud. Air conditioning unit upstairs was nice to cool the upstairs down and get out of the heat! It is very close to the beach but note it is not a good swimming beach - it is extremely shallow and very muddy; best at low tide but still not ideal! However there is a tidal pool in Kingscote 3-4mins drive down the road, or 20-25mins walk for those wanting to swim or cool down! We had a great stay, thanks.

Mallee Rise - Pelican Lagoon

Larissa.Anne.Lewis@Gmail.ComRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Oh WOW. We had the best time staying at Mellee Rise. What a special property. It was everything we hoped for and more - Private, amazing views, wildlife (those kangaroos ❤️) the amenities and the location for us to a tee. Even though it’s a remote property it is actually quite central to most of the activities on the island and a beautiful respite when back from all the activities. Christine and Tess were amazing in their communication and made us feel right at home. I would recommend this property 100%.

Stokes Bay Surf Shack

AmandaRating, 5 stars5 days ago
The Surf Shack is a wonderful, off-the-grid getaway, within walking distance of beautiful Stokes Bay beach. We made friends with the wildlife and enjoyed cosy fires. Thanks so much for being our home away from home during our fabulous week away on Kangaroo Island!

Pisces - Seaside serenity

KylieRating, 5 stars7 months ago
Plenty of space in this house - large bedrooms and tv in main room. Missed not having electric blankets or a dishwasher but the house stay warm enough with the heater in the ceiling of the main room. Interesting how both the main bathroom and ensuite were at the same end of the house. A secure backyard if we had taken our dogs with us. No beach view but lovely to see/hear a variety of birds.

DriftINN - Kangaroo Island

PipRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The place is beautiful! Incredibly peaceful and private. We stayed for 2 nights, and changed our plans so we spent more time at the cabin rather than driving around the island. Sitting on the deck with a coffee first thing watching the sunrise and then reading my book, with the only sound the crashing of waves was a wonderful way to spend a weekend. The place is simple with everything you need and very clean. Loved that we could walk along the small track to the cliff tops and watch dolphins in the water. Will definitely come back to stay!

Mr&Mrs Fish Cabin 3

KyraRating, 5 stars6 days ago
We loved staying in unit 3, our only regret was not staying longer than one night. Victoria has thought of everything you could possibly need for a relaxing say, and the decor is gorgeous. Loved the comfy bed, thick bathroom towels, Arsop hand soap, custom made fish-shaped cookies, and much more. It was the peaceful and relaxing stay we needed after a quick lap around the island. Thanks so much, Victoria!

Queen Ensuite Room ~ Island Alive

GaryRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. The location is tranquil and surrounded by tall trees. It is next to a conservation park, so care needs to be taken driving at dusk and night time due to wildlife. We stayed in the king room. It has a comfortable bed and modern en suite. There are several other smaller cabins but we happened to have the location to ourselves for four days. We were there during September but I imagine it would be suitable all year round because of the shade, split system air conditioning, and pot bellied wood heater. Everything apart from food was provided, including wood and we had fires at night outside at the fire pit. There is a large, well-appointed communal kitchen and a bathroom made from a converted water tank, which we tended to use rather than the en suite because it is so spectacular with the perspex roof. We also took part in a forest bathing session with Amy and a sauna, both recommended.

The Dolls House, unique & historical double storey

RenateRating, 5 stars11 months ago
We had a great stay! The 'Doll's House' is a homely place, small but well equipped with everything we needed! It is right in the middle of town within easy walking distance to everything Kingscote has to offer. We would highly recommend staying there, but you have to be aware that the stairs to the bedroom are very steep!

Mr&MrsFish Cabin 2

We had such a beautiful stay. The room was absolutely lovely—clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up. Our host was wonderful to deal with—accomodating, friendly, very responsive, and punctual, which made everything so easy. One of the highlights was the resident koala in the gum tree just outside. We were so happy there, we honestly didn’t want to leave. Thank you so much for such a special experience!

Mr&Mrs Fish Cabin 1

ZoryRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
First let me just say, if you’re coming to kangaroo island, this is the place to stay. We arrived pretty late in the evening and were surprised when the cabin was so easy to find and instructions were very clear with the key easily accessible. As soon as I opened the door the first thing I noticed was the smell. It smelled so good, none of that old cabin smell but a fresh clean scent. Stepping inside proved that the smell was preparing us for what came ahead. As a germaphobe, I typically bring my own sheets and pillowcases when staying at Airbnbs. The fact that I did not feel the need to replace the provided linens speaks volumes about the cleanliness of this place—even by my irrational standards. If I could write an essay in these reviews about how neat and tidy this Airbnb was I would. The koalas we woke up to the next morning were just a cherry on top of a decadent chocolate cake. We enjoyed the coffee we made with the supplies provided and watched the koalas wake up. 10/10 stay!!
