Doors are decorated with landscape motifs by the artist Wilhelm Dreesen.

The large wooden terrace by the house allows you to find space in the sun at all times of the day, as well as enjoy your morning coffee, while the ships sail by on the Flensburg fjord. The light, the water, the tranquillity and the beautiful nature are absolutely magical in this part of Sydals. Walking and cycling, fishing, kayaking, dinghy sailing and kitesurfing are popular activities.

If you are more into pure relaxation, you can enjoy the peaceful idyll and beautiful nature in Østerby, where our lovely cottage is located less than 100m from a beautiful and undisturbed beach.

The Garden House

Visit one of Denmark's most popular islands and stay in a luxurious half-timbering house with an impressive fireplace. The house is hidden in one of the old gardens in the center of Ærøskøbing, 2 minutes walk from the ferry. Surrounded by your own quiet garden with two private terrasses. The spacious 40 sqm house is renovated with modern comfort. NOTE: From June 1st to September 1st, Ærøskøbing is closed to cars. You can park two minutes from the house – free of charge and without time limit.

The stay includes a DIY breakfast with sourdough rolls, butter, jam, milk,eggs from our hens, and nourishing porridge – ideal for an authentic and relaxing getaway close to nature.

Staying in our 75 square meter vacation apartment gives our guests a very special sense of vacation. When you open doors and windows, the sounds of the forest, the garden and the sea birds flow in. A scent of fresh sea air meets your nostrils. Our guests also experience the light as something very special. Especially when the evening sun sends its rays down on the surrounding islands, you have to pinch yourself to make sure you're not dreaming.
