“Beautiful, functional property in a very quiet and picturesque village. Janine was a great host who made everything super easy and treated us with some nice little touches such as milk and pastries on arrival. We spent our days out exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside and evenings curled up with a bottle of wine in front of the tv on the very comfy sofa. Bliss.”
The room is a small double size with double bed, chest of drawers, hanging rail and TV. The terraced house is in a lovely village setting, opposite village hall. Stylish interior with open plan kitchen. With a 10min walk to the station and 10 drive to the M4, the property is well connected for the traveller. The village has shops and post office within a 100meters, while the market towns of Newbury 15mins drive and Marlborough just a 20 minute drive there is a bus stop 50 metres from house.
“Shhhhh! I wasn’t going to tell everyone about Vonnie’s lovely stylish place in a quiet corner of the world with a great local pub. I also wasn’t going say much about Vonnie’s great hospitality either...because if you do then it may get booked up so I can’t stay again soon. But I’m a fair person and maybe I should be honest and say that you would be daft to miss out on this little gem. Thanks for a great stay Vonnie.”
This charming cottage is situated in the heart of Kintbury. There are plenty of lovely walks nearby and the Kennet & Avon canal is within easy reach for fishing and cycling. The village has 2 pubs, a good corner store and a part-time bakery just a minute's walk away. The property is also only a short distance from the station for trains to Newbury/Hungerford (5 minutes), Reading (35 minutes) or London (50 minutes).
“Dorothea couldn’t have been more accommodating. The home is a lovely space and well thought out! Friendly, tidy and an all round pleasant stay for me during my time working down here - the facilities in the home are fantastic. The village is lovely, shame I couldn’t explore due to lockdown but I’m sure the local pubs would have been a great place to wind down. Local walks are plentiful in very pretty surroundings. If I am ever working this way again I will definitely be coming back here!”
