While the exterior retains the atmosphere of a historic Kyoto townhouse, the interior is a space that harmonizes Japanese tradition and modernity. When you enter the entrance, you can enjoy the seasonal nature of Kyoto's unique tsubo garden, which is like a cut-out of the scenery in the mountains. The facility is a Kyoto townhouse with elegant taste, decorated with paintings by Japanese painters and decorations by craftsmen. It can accommodate up to 9 people in a spacious 100 ㎡ space. My place has been a century-old traditional inn and recently renovated into a spacious Kyo-Machiya style inn named "KINKAKU-RO", where you can feel both traditional and modern sense, officially licensed by the local government. It is located at a quiet residential area in the north part of Kyoto within a walking distance from the famous tourist attractions such as Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) and Kitano Temmangu. Five free rental bicycles allow you to have an easy access to other nice spots.
